Chapter 19

(Hiccup's Pov)
The sun slowly rises to the sky as I began to wake up and yawn, stretching my arms out. As I got up and began to walk to the Dragon stables, as I noticed that Firestorm wasn't on top of it. I shrugged it off as I opened the doors. Toothless ran up to me and rubbed his head against me.

"Heh good morning to you too bud." I say as I rubbed his head.

The others woke up and got their dragons as Toothless and I took off to patrol the island. The whole time I noticed that Firestorm wasn't there? As we were coming back to the stables, we saw the gang at the beach and landed next to them. As I got off and walked closer the others turned to look at me.

"He's gone, again!" Astrid said as I looked at some writing in the sand.

"But why?" I heard Fishlegs say behind me.

"I don't know, but he says he'll be back, we shouldn't just assume he left us." I say as they all nodded and got back on their dragons.

I got back on Toothless as we all took off to get started on patrols to find any bandits, especially since Firestorm was attacked by some, we have to be more on guard then ever before. I just hope he doesn't get into more trouble, because we have no idea where he went.

(Toothless POV)
'I couldn't help but question why he left us? Is it because of the trappers he was attacked by? I'm not sure why he left.' I thought to myself until Stormfly caught my attention.

"I'm sure he'll be fine, he's a powerful dragon you know." She said as I nodded in response.

"Yeah, plus he'll kill anyone who tries to-OW HEY!" I heard Belch saying until Barf hit him.

"Shut up, we don't need to talk about that alright?" He said as Belch rolled his eyes.

"He did what he had to do, we all know that." Meatlug said as she flew between us.

"Still strange though, you have to admit, he's the kind of dragon who wouldn't hurt a fly." Hookfang was saying as we all stared at him.

"What?" He tilted his head confused.

"He eats sharks for breakfast." I said as we laughed at him, since he forgot about that.

"He does make some good cooked fish though." We couldn't help but agree with him on that.

"Man, we need to ask him how he cooks them?" Stormfly said as I nodded.

"We probably can't do it, remember he has the fire breathes of all dragons, so even all of us probably couldn't cook it as good as him." Belch said behind us as we sighed but agreed since we knew it was true.

It had been nearly 4 hours, the rest of the gang flew back to the Edge already while Hiccup and I were still flying around. He patted my head while he let out a exhausted sigh.

"Come on bud, let's go back to the Edge." He said as we turned around and started flying back.

On the way, I smelled something..it was faint and old but I still caught a whiff and began to follow it.

"What's going on bud?" Hiccup said as I was trying to smell, what smelt like blood, was at.

Soon enough, we found a bunch of wrecked boats stuck between rocks. We landed on one, which looked like a big captains ship.

"You don't think this is the ship Firestorm found? Do you bud?" Hiccup questioned as I thought the same thing.

We walked towards the captains quarter as the door was broken off it's hinges, with a blood trail leading from the table out the door. We walked closer and slowly as we looked at maps on the table. Hiccup picked up one as he looked at it closely.

"These are unknown maps, even the language is strange? I've never seen anything like it?" He said as I turned around and looked at a little shelf with claw marks on it.

We heard a loud crack as the ship shook, and we noticed the ship was sinking. Hiccup jumped on quickly and we flew off the ship. We watched as the ship sank into the ocean, I took a quick look as I noticed the large amounts of dried blood as well. We began to fly back to the Edge as Hiccup was looking at the map still, and very puzzled too. It was night time by the time we finally got back to the Edge, and the others were already asleep. We landed at Hiccup's hut as he went inside after saying 'goodnight' to me as I went back to the stables. Sadly, Firestorm wasn't back either..I had hoped he'd be back by now. He's like a little brother to me, even if he's bigger and more powerful. I went inside and laid down in my stable to sleep after another long day.

(3rd Person POV)
All was quiet on the Edge, everyone asleep in their huts and the dragons in their stables. Unaware of the evil watching them..planning their revenge on the riders and the dragons. For this was the beginning of something, bigger then them. War was coming, and they wouldn't be able to prepare for what was coming. In the end, all they have...is hope.

Hey guys, hope u like the story so far, but as of now this is the end of season 1 I guess..? But cya later peeps peace
