Chapter 8

(Hiccups POV)
I woke up to see Toothless on his bed. He woke up as soon as I did.
"Good morning bud"
I said to him as he purred in response. I looked around for Fire Storm, but he wasn't anywhere in the house. Me and Toothless got up and walked outside. Fire Storm was sitting outside the door.
"Oh, good morning Hiccup"
He said as he got up.
"Good morning to you to"
The three of us started walking towards the Great Hall to have breakfast. The whole village spends their meals in the great hall, both dragons and humans. The gang was already at a table eating, I joined them as they all said "good morning" to me.
"I told you they'd be back soon Hiccup"
Astrid said to me as she punched my shoulder. We all started to talk to one another as our dragons played with one another. Fire Storm joined us as we were still talking.
"So what's planned for today?"
Fishlegs asked Fire Storm, since he leaves everyday to explore, Fishlegs has been trying to go with him.
"Oh same as usual"
Meatlug ran up to Fishlegs excited as she nuzzles him. Fire Storm tilted his head confused.
"You'd like to join me today?"
Meatlug nodded still excited.
"If you don't mind us joining you?"
Fishlegs asked towards Fire Storm.
"Wait, how come he can go by himself huh? What about the rest of us?"
Snotlout said as everyone else started to agree with him. Well I guess it wouldn't hurt to leave for a day? I mean it's only a day right?
"Ok ok, if you don't mind Fire Storm is it alright if we tag along?"
Everyone stared at him, waiting for a response.
"Yeah I guess it's alright, but don't expect me to let one of you ride me"
I went to tell the village we'd go exploring for the day and we'd be back in the evening. After that we all got our gear ready. We all stood in the center of town waiting to go.
"Alright you all ready?"
Fire Storm asked us all. We all responded, and our dragons did too.
"Alright, well try to keep up heh"
He took off as the rest of us did. He flew south as we all followed him.
"So what exactly are we gonna do?"
Tuffnut said towards us.
"Explore one of the islands off the map that Fire Storm found"
I said in response.
"You never questioned it did you?"
Ruffnut said to me.
"Questioned what?"
"How and where did Fire Storm find the map?"
I didn't think about it. Me and Toothless flew faster to catch up to Fire Storm.
"Hey Fire Storm?"
"Yeah Hiccup?"
"Where exactly did you find that map?"
He was quiet for a bit. Toothless purred at him to get his attention.
"Oh right, I was flying around when I saw a little convoy it looked like? They were abandoned no one on them...at least alive. It looked like they were attacked by something, I don't know what though. I landed on the biggest one there and I found the captains quarter, where I found the map"
A convoy? And what did he mean something attacked it?
"What kind of damage was there on the ships?"
"Surprisingly no damage to the ships, but the body's were all torn up? Like something you'd see with a hungry dragon, they were ripped to shreds"
I got a little frightened by the thought of wild dragons flying around and...eating people.
"Anyways were almost to one of the islands"
I looked forward to see a island coming into sight. We flew above it a bit to see if we could see any dragons. We saw nothing and landed on the island.

(Toothless POV)
Hopefully this was better then the one me and Fire Storm went to last time. Our riders got off us as we all walked around. There were pretty flowers everywhere. I sniffed one and accidentally sneezed shooting a fire ball.
"Oops.."
We all laughed as we kept walking around. Soon enough we found a waterfall. We all took a drink as our riders were thinking of a name to call this island. Barf and Belch pushed Hookfang into the pond as we all laughed. He got out and shook the water off, he didn't think it was funny it looked like. Fire Storm shot a plasma blast towards the top of the waterfall. We all turned towards him surprised, he was growling as smoke was coming out of his mouth.
"Fire Storm what's wrong?"
Stormfly said to him, he didn't say anything back instead just kept growling. I looked at his eyes to see they were slits again. I didn't wanna do it but I slapped him with my tail. He looked at me with his eyes still slits.
"Fire Storm! Snap out of it!"
He roared so loud it felt like the ground was shaking. He shot a plasma blast at me, but I luckily dodged it. Meatlug rammed into Fire Storm making him fall onto his side. He quickly got up and tried to bite Meatlug. Our riders got behind me and the other dragons.
"What is wrong with him?!"
I heard Snotlout say behind us. Fire Storm shot some spikes from his tail towards our feet, making us move backwards towards the waterfall. He stared at each one of us, like he hasn't seen us before.
"I don't think he's gonna hurt us?"
Stormfly said as she sat down. Fire Storm started to growl quietly.
"Guys sit down and don't make any sudden moves"
Hiccup said to us.
"Are you insane?"
Hookfang growled at Snotlout and hit him with his tail making him sit. The rest of us did the same as Fire Storm stopped and sat down as well. His eyes were still slits though. He started walking towards me, I stood up and he started to growl again.
"Bud sit down, I don't think he's gonna do anything if you don't seem as a threat"
Hiccup said to me as I did what he said. Fire Storm started to sniff me. Next thing I know he bites my fake tail fin off and stares at our riders.

(Stormflys POV)
What was going on with Fire Storm? Why was he acting so...wild? He walked towards the twins and started to sniff them. He kept sniffing all of us, after he stopped he sat in front of us. We were quiet for a while as he kept watching us. My stomach growled, I guess he heard it because he walked towards me. He got right in my face nearly making our noses touch. His ears perked up, I guess he was listening for something. He started growling and ran away out of sight.
"What do we do now?"
I heard Fishlegs say behind us.
"I'm not sure but something is up with Fire Storm, but why did he leave?
"Uh did you guys not hear Stormflys stomach growl?"
Astrid said to everyone. The dragons looked at me.
"What?"
I said towards them. We heard the bushes rustling as Fire Storm walked back towards us with fish in his mouth. He dropped the fish in front me and walked back a little. He looked at the fish and back to me.
"I think he wants you to eat it?"
Toothless said to me. I started to eat the fish. We all heard Hookfangs stomach growl. Fire Storm walked to him and did the same thing he did with me. He flew off and came back with a big fish for Hookfang. After awhile he gave fish to all of us, even our riders.
"Hiccup, it's getting late. Do you have a plan yet?"
Astrid asked Hiccup. Fire Storm let our riders make a campfire for us to all sit around. He sat in a tree making sure we didn't fly away or something. He hasn't said a word since he started acting wild.
"I'm not sure, he's acting like a wild dragon...but he's also acting like himself. I'm sure we can bring him back from whatever is happening to him"
Hiccup stood up and we heard Fire Storm start growling as he came down from the tree. Hiccup held his hand out trying to earn his trust, like he did with Toothless. Fire Storm slowly walked towards Hiccup growling quietly. Hiccup looked away waiting for Fire Storm to put his face in his hand. After a while he did. He stopped growling and started purring. Hiccup looked towards Fire Storm who kept blinking. They finally went from slits back to circles. He shook his head as he groaned.
"Ugh, what happened?"
Hiccup told him what he did the whole time we've been here.
"Wow...I'm so sorry guys, I hope I didn't hurt you guys?"
"We're fine you didn't do anything"
He put his head down as his ears went down as well. I nuzzled him to cheer him up.
"Sorry if I scared you guys"
Hiccup walked up and petted him.
"It's ok, you weren't yourself"
He purred as he was being petted.
"Let's go back home gang"
Our riders got back on our backs after Hiccup put a replacement tail on Toothless. As we all took off towards Berk, Fire Storm was quiet the whole trip back. After a while we landed back at Berk. It was late so everyone said good night and went to their homes.
"Hey can you tell Astrid I'm gonna stay with you tonight?"
I asked Fire Storm, he told Astrid and she walked home after telling me "goodnight". Me and Fire Storm walked towards the edge of the village, over looking the ocean. He was still quiet. I nuzzled him to get his attention, he nuzzled back.
"Sorry about today Stormfly..."
"Hey it's ok. Trust me it wasn't your fault"
I said as I snuggled with him.
"Thanks Stormfly"
He said as he smiled at me. He wrapped his wing around me as I scooted closer to him. He put his face against mine as we both laid down. I licked his cheek, he blushed a little. I giggled as he looked embarrassed. I nuzzled him as he nuzzled back. I put my face into his chest as he put his on my neck. 'I wish I could tell him how much I love him, but will he accept? Does he like me to?' I thought about before I finally stopped and went to sleep.
