Chapter 42

I cheered as I busted through the doors of school.

We were no longer sophomores.

That means no school!

I couldn't be more excited.

"Baby calm down we are still at school" Jackson laughed.

I skipped to his car as I waved bye to Zach and Cody.

I got in and smiled as Jackson got in as well.

"2 more years left JJ!" I squealed.

"Calm down sweetheart" he said.

"I'm just so excited! It's our first summer together! Then the next 2 years is going to be amazing! Then we start our lives!" I said happily.

"Yeah."

"Why aren't you excited?" I asked while frowning.

"College means distance" he said.

"Well mom said that I don't need long in college. I want to be a photographer and travel!" I smiled.

"Do you know what I even want to do?" he asked.

"No, you never told me" I stated.

"A doctor. I really want to be a doctor" he said.

"That's awesome!" I exclaimed.

"Yeah it is, but we can't travel if we want us to work" he said.

I frowned.

"Ok that's fine" I said.

He looked at me but then back at the road while shaking his head.

It was silent the rest of the car ride and he parked in front of his house.

"How about I just take you home?" he suggested.

"If that's what you want" I said quietly.

"I think it's best if you go home" he said.

He started up his car and quickly started driving to my house.

If he wanted me home why did he park in his driveway?

It was silence again until we got to my house.

He parked the car and tightened his grip on the wheel.

"I'll see you tomorrow, bye love you" I whispered.

I pecked his cheek quickly and I heard him say a quiet I love you before I shut the door.

I quickly walked up to my house and closed the door.

"We should tell her."

"No we shouldn't" mom snapped.

I walked into the living room to see my parents.

"What are you doing here dad?" I asked.

They both looked at me and mom smiled.

"Hey honey, how was the last day of school?"

"It was great! We practically did nothing all day!"

"That's great" she smiled.

She excused herself and walked to the kitchen.

"Hey dad, I haven't seen you in like 2 weeks."

I hugged him as he kissed he top of my head.

"How have you been Kiari?"

"I've been good! I'm no longer a sophomore" I smiled.

"I'm really proud of you, for being able to go to a public school" he said.

"I know! I can't wait to finish off my last 2 years" I beamed.

"I'm going to talk to your mom before I head out, I'll see you soon ok?"

"Ok! Bye dad I love you!"

"I love you too Kiari."

I walked up to my room and placed my backpack in my closet.

I changed into sleeping shorts and one of Jackson's shirts.

I frowned knowing that he didn't want to hang out with me.

Did I do something wrong?

I got under my blankets and grabbed the long pillow he always lays against since he sleeps against the wall. I cling onto it having it smell like him and took a nap.

I opened my eyes and saw Jackson's bare chest.

My eyes went up to his face to see him looking down at me with the hazel eyes I loved so much.

"JJ?" I asked sleepily.

"I'm here baby" he said softly.

He brushed the hair out of my face and I cling onto him.

"Are you still sleepy?"

"Only a little" I yawned.

He smiled and pecked my nose making me crinkle it.

"I'm sorry about earlier, I was just upset and I didn't want to take it out on you" he explained.

"What were you upset about?" I questioned.

"I want you to be able to travel" he started.

"But if you can't come with me I don't want to go. It's either I travel with you or I don't at all, it's ok JJ. As long as I become a photographer I'm ok. And you want to become a doctor, I'm not going to let my stupid dream get in the way of that" I said.

"It's not stupid baby, but I promise. Once we both make it big, before we start a family together we will travel. I can promise you that" he said softly.

I smiled and kissed his chest.

"Now, let's get back to snuggling" he smiled.

I giggled and he wrapped the blanket around both of us as we both started talking about our future.
