I kept biting my lips pero di ko parin mapigilan ang mapangiti. I couldn't freaking believe that I did that. I only imagined doing that, but I actually did! Baka isa nga akong hokage gaya ng sabi ni Calix. I smiled at that thought.

But wait...

Ugh! Baka! Natampal ko na lang ang noo ko. Thinking about it now, that move was rather so stupid! Paano kung bigla na lang siyang umiwas sakin? What if she thinks that I'm a freaking pervert?

Darn! I haven't thought about it beforehand. 

"Okay ka lang jay-jay?" mula sa rearview mirror ng sasakyan ay nakikita pala ako sa likod ni Manong George.

"O-okay lang po ako."  sagot ko sa kanya.

"Sigurado ka? Kung nag-aalala ka doon sa kaibigan mo talaga ipagpapaalam na lang kita sa Mommy mo."

"H-hindi na po kailangan, di rin naman ako papayagan ni manang na mag-stay po doon eh." And I don't think I can go back there after what I did. Ugh! Stupid!

Pagdating ko sa bahay, nadatnan ko si mommy sa sala habang may mga papel na nakakalat sa may center table. 

"Tadai--" I paused realizing what I was about to say. Remember when I said that my mom was still bitter about what happened to her relationship with dad? Yeah, it's this serious that I was not even allowed to talk in Japanese at home. She had Japanese clients but she can bear talking with them in Nihongo, but I'm an exception since I remind her too much of my dad. Seriously, she still acts like a teenager. 

"I'm home." Sabi ko na lang.

Napaangat naman siya ng tingin sakin, agad niyang binitawan ang hawak na papel at lumapit sakin.  "Kumusta anak? Okay na ba ang kalagayan ng Dad ni Airish?"

She genuinely looked so concerned about him. Naging close friend din siya dati ng nanay ni Airish kaya siguradong concern din talaga siya kay Tito.

"Di pa po siya nagigising pero sabi ng doctor stable naman na po ang kalagayan niya." Sagot ko.

"Thank goodness. Kumusta si Airish? Isa ba mga ospital ba natin ang pinagdalhan sa dad niya?"

"She's okay Mom, pero siguradong nag-aalala parin 'yon ng husto sa papa niya. Unfortunately, hindi sa ospital natin dinala ang papa niya but we can send some of our doctors there if needed."

She sighed then sat down. "She must have been so scared. She lost her mother and she can't possibly bear to lose his dad."

"That's why I want to help her in any way I can, mom."

She smiled and looked at me. "Of course, anak... Help her." Sabi niya at sumilay ang malungkot na ngiti sa labi niya. "I wasn't able to help her mother. She was a great friend of mine and it pains me to know that she died here in the Philippines without even knowing that she was here."

Mom and Tita Lovely, Airish' mother, was close when we were still in Japan. Madali silang nagkasundo since both of them are Filipina. I know she was really sad when she heard the news that she died.

Nilapitan ko siya at niyakap. "I know that Tita Lovely understands, siguradong alam niya na tutulungan mo siya kung sakaling nalaman mo ang kalagayan niya." 

She smiled at me and hugged me back. 

"By the way mom, bakit mo nga pala ako pinapauwi agad kanina?"

Kumalas siya sa pagkakayakap sakin at nagbuntong hininga. "Your dad called me."

Nagulat ako sa sagot niya. Dad never calls her. Or di ko lang talaga alam na naguusap pa sila? Mom still can't get over my dad, it's pretty obvious. But up until now, I still don't get why they decided to get divorced when I know they still love each other. I witnessed how they loved each other and they seldom fight but then suddenly they just told me that they will get divorced and mom and I will stay here in the Philippines for good. I wanted to ask them the reason, but I chose to let them tell me when they are ready.
