23 - Surprised

Day 1

"Sam, what's my schedule for the week?"

He immediately asked after arriving.

"Just a meeting with the stockholders by Friday. No other important schedule than that Sir."

"How about next week?"

"You're a bit packed next week Sir. You have a business conference to attend in Hongkong for 3 days. I've arranged everything already."

"so i only have this week to visit Baste. Sam?"

"yes Sir?"

"please tell one of our drivers to bring my car for check up. I'll use it for Zambales and i want it checked before i go."

"Noted Sir. Anything else you need Sir?"

"Nothing more. You may continue with your work."

Paglabas ni Sam sa office nya ay napalingon si Rj sa nakapatong na papeles sa table nya. He sighed and then nag umpisa ng magtrabaho.

He's halfway with his works when he received a message from Mavie.

"just arrived. Thanks for sending me off. We'll talk the moment i get back. See you soon."

"Good you arrived safe. Just finish all the things you need to do and come back. We missed you here. Yes, we'll talk about everything. Take care and see you soon, Love."

At hindi na nagreply pa si Mavie. Rj stopped his work and looked at the view outside.

"You did this to me Maria Victoria. And we will talk about this, about us when you come back. And hope everythings gonna be fine, i hope so."

And Rj finished everything he needs to do for the day.....

DAY 2

It's around noon when a car arrived in front of an entrance gate of a farm in Zambales.

"Magandang tanghali po Kuya."

"Sir, magandang tanghali po pero mula po dito eh, private property na po."

"oo nga po pero ito po ba ang farm ni Mr. Sotto?"

"Ay opo. bisita po ba kayo Sir? Wala po kasing advise na darating po kayo eh."

"actually po hindi nila alam na dadalaw ako pero you can confirm it Kuya. Please tell them its Rj Faulkerson. Thank you."

"Saglit lang po Sir ah."

Ilang minuto pa ang lumipas ay bumalik ang gwardia at sumaludo kay Rj.

"Pasok na po Sir. Baybayin nyo lang po itong daan, diretso lang po at sa mansyon na po ang tuloy nyo."

Nagpasalamat si Rj at nagdrive na papasok. The farm the Sotto have are not that small one. Its a large property with both vegetable farmlands, fruit trees and livestocks and poultry farming. Rj can even see horses running and eating around.

The moment he stopped in front of the villa, Baste and his Mom are already waiting to welcome him. He took his bag as well as some gifts for the family before heading to greet them.

"Kuya Rj!" Baste said and hugged Rj.

"Good afternoon po Tita. Sorry for the unannounced visit po." Rj said sabay mano.

"Nakung bata ka. Talagang na surprise  kami noong sinabi ng guard na andoon ka na. Welcome to our humble abode ijo." Pauleen said and hugged Rj

"Thanks Tita. Here's a small gift po pala."

"You dont need to, but thank you. Anyways, lets get inside so you can put your things down. Kamusta naman ang byahe?"

Diretsong sala naman sila. Rj's things was taken care of by one of the house helps.

"its a long drive but i enjoyed so much. May mga tricky path lang po but its all good."

"you must be so tired. Wait, have you eaten? Nag breakfast ka naman ba bago ka umalis sa Manila?"

"Yes po. I had breakfast po. Sina Tito Vic po pala?"

"Vic's with the boys. Nasa cattle barn lang to check on something. Actually pabalik na ata, sila nalang din hinihintay namin ni Baste para maglunch. Tamang tama lang din ang dating mo."

Then bigla namang nagpakandong si Baste kay Rj.

"naku anak baka magbali si Kuya Rj mo!" Pauleen said making Baste pout and Rj smile.

"I just missed Kuya."

"Miss you too Baste. Naku kagigil ka." Rj said sabay yakap sa bata.

They were busy catching up when Vic and his 3 men arrived.

"Oh, Rj?"

"Good afternoon Sir." sabay mano ni Rj

"Napadalaw ka ijo? May problema ba?" worried na tanong ni Vic

"No Tito. Actually i just went here to visit you all po plus i promised this big boy that i'll spend some time with him too."

"Naku, alam ba ni Maria Victoria na darating ka?"

"i haven't mention to her po. But she knew i'll be visiting Baste."

Nagkatinginan lang ang mag-asawa at nakibit balikat nalang si Pauleen.

"naku at anong oras na. Tayo'y magtanghalian na. Is our lunch ready?"

"yes, kayo nalang talaga ang hinihintay naming tatlo. Si Baste paiyak na sa gutom, buti dumating tong si Rj." Pauleen teased their youngest

"Hala at kumain na tayo. Mamaya na ulit tayo magkwentuhan."

Diretsong dining room na sila. Their lunch was served. Puchero and adobong sitaw for lunch.

"Wow!" Rj exclaimed.

"yummy, right Kuya?"

"the best puchero i've tasted."

"you should ask Mavie to cook for you. Her puchero's the best." Pauleen

"eh sigurado namang maipagluluto ni Mav yang si Rj, eh magpapakasal din naman yan sila diba?" singit naman ni Jose.

Nagkatinginan naman sina Rj at Vic.

"about that tito, tutal na mention nadin naman po natin yung about sa wedding. Mav told me she wanted us to be engaged as soon as she went back from LA."

"what?" Vic even stopped eating. He himself is surprised of what he heard from Rj

"didn't she mentioned about it Tito?" pagtatakang tanong ni Rj

"she never did. I know she planned it but she never said that its gonna be this early."

"its partly the reason why im here Tito." Rj said seriously.

"is there any problem Rj?" Vic worriedly asked.

"i dont think its a problem for me but i dont know about her or to all of you." Rj

"What is it Ijo? You know you can always tell us. Is Mavie being bad to you? Is she not asking you nicely or may nagawa ba syang mali? If she did i'm apologizing for her. And for the next wrong thing she'll do i'm apologizing in advance too... Rj sorry for-----------"

"I think im loving Mavie already...."

Double update for today. Bitin nga lang! Hahahaha

Pambawi sa mga matagal na panahong di ako nakapag UD. From now in i'll make sure to update more. Thanks for always loving and supporting my works. I appreciate it a lot! I love you guys!
