Chaos erupted across Ukuthula, and with the moon's disappearance, the natural world itself seemed to spiral into disarray.

The moon had been missing for three weeks, and in that short span, the world had begun to unravel. Its absence wreaked havoc in ways no one had anticipated. Without its gravitational pull, the tides surged erratically, flooding coastal towns without warning. People in these areas were dying by the dozens as homes were swept into the sea, their occupants unable to escape the rising waters. The once-predictable rhythm of life near the ocean had turned into a nightmare, where survival depended on fleeing inland or facing the wrath of the unstable tides. Storms became fiercer and less predictable; their ferocity unmatched as raging winds tore through crops and homes alike. Rivers overflowed in some places, while others dried up completely, leaving once-thriving settlements parched and desperate.

The sky, once a comforting canvas of stars, was now a vast, consuming darkness. Night fell heavier than ever before, and even the brightest fires and lanterns seemed muted against the oppressive blackness. The absence of moonlight left the land cloaked in shadow, unsettling the rhythm of life. The stars alone were not enough to illuminate the world, and accidents became more frequent. People stumbled into rivers, fell from cliffs, or were crushed under collapsing structures weakened by the relentless storms.

Weather patterns had gone haywire. Storms came with a vengeance, their winds howling like furious spirits. Entire villages were obliterated as roofs were torn off homes and trees fell like matchsticks. In just three weeks, what should have been a rainy season turned into a cycle of hurricanes that showed no sign of relenting. Death tolls soared as floodwaters engulfed towns and fierce winds claimed lives indiscriminately.

Sleep became difficult, dreams plagued by nightmares of an uncertain future. Livestock grew restless, their natural instincts thrown off balance. Birds, confused by the unending gloom, sang at odd hours, further unsettling the already fragile nerves of the people.

Protests erupted in cities and towns alike, fueled by anger and fear. Citizens swarmed the steps of government buildings, demanding answers from officials who themselves were at a loss. The cries of "Where is the moon?" and "What have you done?" echoed through the streets, their frustration mounting as days turned into weeks without progress. Effigies of leaders were burned in the streets as the people's trust in their rulers crumbled.

With food supplies dwindling and the chaos escalating, the panic turned deadly. People fought over basic necessities, their desperation driving them to commit unspeakable acts. Shops were looted, supply chains broke down, and violence became a daily occurrence. Hospitals overflowed with the injured, but there were too few resources to save everyone. Disease took root in overcrowded shelters, spreading rapidly among those who had lost their homes to the disasters.
