Chapter Ten

Riley

I woke to warmth, it felt amazing. My legs were twisted in long limbs and my arms wrapped across my chest hugging flesh to myself. “Mmhh,” I moaned tucking myself closer to the body.

“Stop wriggling,” a voice groaned behind me. “Go back to sleep.”

“Okay,” I whispered digging myself deeper into the warmth of the sofa.

A few moments later I heard giggling. I cracked open my eyes and saw Ellie standing over me. She smiled at me like she knew something, “How long have you been standing there,” I asked her sitting up.

“Long enough,” she replied.

“What do you mean ‘long enough’?”

“Long enough to see you snuggling back into Liam and moan about the feeling.” I started to turn red from embarrassment. “I know what it’s like to be caught in that situation, when me and Alex first visited his parents’ house his bother caught me and him making out on Alex’s bed, I was so embarrassed because I was underneath Alex.”

I burst out laughing at this, it was nice to hear stories of Ellie and Alex. “Be quiet baby,” Liam grumbled from behind me.

“Liam you’re mum’s here,” I told him before he bolted upright and looked at her. His bare chest was pressed against my back, it felt deliciously warm.

“Morning Mum,” he said awkwardly.

 “Did you sleep well?” she asked him.

“It was okay, a little squishy but comfortable.”

“Good, good,” she smiled, well I’m going to make breakfast, when you’re ready you can join me.” She headed out of the room to the kitchen.

We sat together for a few minutes in silence, I just didn’t know what to say to him, last night was something new for us. We hadn’t been this close since conceiving our little one but somehow it felt more intimate than before, maybe it’s because we know each other better now, maybe it’s because I have feelings for him and want to be with him. I wanted to know what he was thinking.

“Why did you join me last night?” he asked me suddenly from behind, he hadn’t moved since his mother left.

“I couldn’t sleep,” I told him. “The baby was in the way, I just couldn’t get comfortable.” This was partly the truth but I also wanted to be lying next to him. I had been dreaming about him, I dreamt that he had kissed me goodnight.

“Oh right,” he sighed. Then suddenly he kissed me. It wasn’t a slow kiss, it was hurried like he was trying to get as much as me as possible. The only thing I could was kiss him back and boy did I. He was an amazing kisser, he held my face lightly in his hands as his kissed me deeply. Soon his hands wondered down my body to hold onto my waist. He pulled me closer so I straddled him. My arms wrapped around his neck so I could be as close as possible to him.

“Daddy,” I heard a quiet crying. I pulled away from Liam. “Daddy,” I heard again.

“Baby move, my little boy wants me,” Liam moved me out his way and got up and headed for my bedroom. I loved hearing Liam called Jack his own, it made me happy to know that he was willing to look after Jack but also our little baby inside of me.

A few minutes later he came back with Jack in his arms. “Jack wanted some breakfast, didn’t you?”

“Yes Daddy,” Jack smiled grabbing on tightly to Liam. 

They headed to the kitchen where Ellie was, I had to watch them, and they were perfect together. 

“Riley,” I heard from behind me. I turned to see Alex, “I just wanted to ask you how work was going?”
