When I woke in the morning I felt refreshed. Last night was amazing, I had never been on a better date. I couldn’t believe how sweet Liam was. He was incredible in every single way.

“Mummy!” a little voice called from the corner of the room. I looked over and saw Jack sitting up in his bed. “Mummy!”

“What little one?” I asked walking to him and picking him up. I carried him back to bed and sat him in my lap under the covers, to keep us warm from the chill outside.

“Can we go to the zoo?” he asked sweetly. I knew Jack loved the zoo, we went every year on his birthday and maybe once more during the year. He loved the animals and the atmosphere of the place. We hadn’t been to the zoo in a while because I’d been so busy with work and everything else but I thought today was a good day to go.

“Sure baby, why don’t you go and ask Daddy while I go and get changed?” I kissed his forehead.

“Okay Mummy,” he climbed out of my bed and ran to Liam’s bedroom. I could hear Jack wake up Liam with his loud, “Daddy! Daddy.” I smiled at the thought of them. I was surprised Jack had taken such a liking to Liam at first because he never referred to Freddy as ‘Daddy’ even though he had been there since he was born.

As I climbed out of bed I heard giggling coming from Liam’s room. Liam was going to make an excel-lent father to our little one. I patted my belly as I thought about it. He made me so happy.

I headed to the bathroom to have a quick shower and wash off the grime from yesterday. As I showered I thought about mine and Liam’s date yesterday. It was so perfect, I got to know him so well. It was so nice to have time on our own. I missed freedom like this.  I could so easily fall for him, I thought.

Once out of the shower and my hair dried, I changed into my favourite pair of jeans and a long sleeved black top. I knew today was going to be chilly. Over the top I wore my favourite leather jacket to keep in any extra heat. I pulled out a pair of cupcake printed socks, I hated plain socks and hadn’t wore any since I was a kid. I decided to wear my favourite black boots as well today. Then I was almost ready for today.

“Mummy! Daddy said that we could go to the zoo,” Jack exclaimed as he sprinted into our bed-room.

“Okay Jack, let’s get you dressed then. Go and get your clothes,” I told him pointing to his draw. I quickly put on some makeup, as he found his clothes, it was only a little bit of foundation and mas-cara. I wasn’t one for a lot of makeup. “Good boy,” I praised him as he brought back his clothes.

I helped him change into a light blue sweater and grey sweatpants. I quickly brushed through his hair once he was dressed. He looked so cute.

We stepped out of my bedroom the same time as Liam did. It was funny how Jack and Liam wore exactly the same clothing, they really did look like father and son. I smiled at them both. I was so lucky to have these men in my life.

“Come on, let’s have breakfast,” Liam smiled taking my hand and pulling both me and Jack to the kitchen.

In the kitchen already was Ellie and Alex, they stood by the table wrapped in each other, they were so cute together even for old people. Well not that old I mean they were only in their early forties, I think.

“So how was your date last night,” Ellie asked us as she sat plates down on the table. I lifted Jack onto his seat before sitting down beside him with Liam at my side. Ellie and Alex sat opposite us with smiles on their faces.

“It was really good,” I told them truthfully. “I had a great time with Liam.”

“I had fun too,” Liam leaned across and kissed my forehead. “I really liked the part where you fell asleep on my shoulder that was real fun.”
