I had just returned from checking on the guys that have spent last night surrounding the perimeters and as soon as I walked into the house, I didn't smell my mate's scent.
I see Corwin come walking out from the back.
"Are the girls with you?" I asked worried.
"No. They're around here somewhere. Did you try their bedroom?" He says but it sounds like he's hiding something.
"No because I can't smell Gemma's scent." I tell him while grabbing him by his collar and pushing him up against the wall. "Plus, I know you know where they are! So where the hell are they?!" I ask him more pissed off.
Before he could reply, the front door opened and in walked both Lorraine and Gemma who both stopped and looked scared when they saw me glaring at them.
"H-hey Alpha." Lorraine smiles nervously.
"What the hell don't you understand about not going out for others to see?" I ask her through clenched teeth.
"Hey! Why don't you chill the hell out! It was my idea to go. So if you want to be upset at someone you can be upset at me! I mean, what's the big idea anyways? Are you embarrassed of me that you don't want others to know I'm your mate?!" Gemma asks me with her arms crossed. Wait, did she just say my mate? Oh my god, does she remember? Or at least that much? Either way, she doesn't need to cover for Lorraine.
We all look at Gemma in shock though that she even just said that we are mates. That has made me and my wolf happy and I guess this means that she's gonna be okay. WE'RE gonna be okay. It also means that I can stop being mean. Which I wasn't sure in how much longer I could act that way with her. So I let out a breath of relief.
"It's not that I'm embarrassed, it's just I'm doing my job as your mate and want to protect you." I smile at her.
Gemma glares at me a little more and then smiles.
"Okay. I understand. But first of all, we went where nobody would recognize us. Also, I can't be cooped up in here all the time neither. So if you're gonna INSIST on protecting me then you'll have to just come with me." She smiles as she walks up to me and throws her arms around me behind my neck and places her lips onto mine.
I can't believe this. This is amazing. I am getting my Gemma back. Thank you Moon Goddess. While kissing her though, I begin making the kiss go deeper and my wolf starts trying to take control by gripping onto her waist tighter as I let out a moan.
She moves her head back a little bit.
"Woah there. Take it easy. We aren't doing that right now." She tells me with a smile and a playful wink.
"Okay, well, Corwin and I have some things we have to do so we'll see you guys later." Lorraine says and quickly walks up to Corwin and takes his hand and after setting her bags in their bedroom, they both head out.
"We'll see ya guys later." Gemma tells them.
"Yep! Have fun you two." Corwin says teasingly before winking and closing the door behind them.
Gemma and I both look at each other for a moment and I try really hard to calm my wolf down when all he wants to do is mate with our mate and to remark her.
"So." Gemma says as she pushes off me. "What do we do now?"
"Uh, well, I've got some things to go over in the office for a little bit and maybe when I come out, we can order some dinner and watch some movies?" I suggest.
"Okay. Sounds awesome! But I choose the first movie." She smiles.
"Of course." I smile back at her. "Wanna meet back down here at lets say, in an hour?"
"That's good for me. See you then, baby." She says as she leans in and gives me a kiss on the lips again before heading upstairs with her shopping bags.
Wow, is this for real? Am I dreaming? Please don't let me be dreaming right now.
