GEMMA
"What is it?" I asked Rhydon as he began to speed up.
"We have to hurry home." He replies with a tensed face.
"Why? What's wrong?" I asked worried.
"Corwin didn't tell me, but he sounded like it was urgent." He tells me.
The place where the council meetings are held isn't that far away in general but we got home real fast. Everything went passing by so fast in the windows it all seems like a blur.
Everything happened so fast as he jumped out of the car and came to take my hand as I got out then we started walking inside and I right away was scared as I saw the look on Corwin's face.
"Alpha! Luna!" They all bowed after Corwin greeted us.
"What's going on?" Rhydon asks.
"You both need to come with me down to the basement." He says as we start to follow him.
My stomach is turning as I have no clue what he is going to show us. My imagination is going wild as well.
I'm hoping it's not a dead or tortured body or even a rogue. I don't think I can emotionally handle any of those scenarios at the moment.
While walking down the stairwell I got more and more nervous until we got to the bottom and followed Corwin over towards the cell that was right in front of us and inside of it was a beatened and chained up Graham. It took me a moment to look past all the blood and bruises he had all over his body but eventually I could tell.
To say I was shocked would be an understatement. He was always an asshole and monster and I know that I had told Rhydon and them that he'd be useful in helping us get Paine, just seeing him here even in the state he's in, I can't help but get a sick feeling.
And I don't know what happened next but I begin to feel more confident and suddenly not afraid anymore. Maybe it's from holding Rhydon's hand that's doing it but either way, one thing I know for sure is Graham will never instill fear in me ever again.
"And who the hell is this?" Rhydon asks Corwin as he scowls at Graham.
"Graham." I answer.
"Graham? As in the one you told us about?" Rhydon asks me.
"Yes." I replied with a nod.
Then the moment I looked at him, I started to feel my head hurt like it hasn't in a while and soon after, I heard Graham mind linking me. He's always been good at that.
"Well, well, well. Paine would be so pleased to see what his ugly cow has been up to. Sleeping with the enemy and ignoring her Master." He grins.
"I've got my memory and abilities back. I know all about the lies you and him made me believe and told me for months. And believe me when I say that that you all will suffer greatly." I threaten him.
"That's very cute how you think you and you're mate will try and defeat Paine when he's already got everything he needed from you." He says.
"What are you talking about?" I ask.
But before he could answer, Rhydon interrupted us and stopped the mind link.
"ENOUGH!" He yells, making his voice boom loudly down here.
Rhydon looks at me then back at him and lets go of my hand as he walks up towards the cell.
"Well if it isn't the infamous Alpha Rhydon." Graham says sarcastically.
"I'm not gonna even bother to try and talk to you. So let me just tell you in what's going to happen. You can either tell me what all I need to know about your Master, or you can endure a lot of excruciating pain." He threatens Graham.
"You think I'm afraid of you? I'm not even afraid of Paine and he's stronger than all of the councils combined. You'll never kill him and I sure as hell will never tell you shit." He says before spitting out blood towards Rhydon, who backs up just in time.
We don't have much time and I know how Graham works, including the way he thinks. Therefore, we need to come up with something fast and fool proof.
I try to start thinking of something but it takes me a few moments until I come up with anything. I never would obviously on purpose, want to do this thing that I'm thinking of, which is to trick Graham.
Despite all the name-calling towards me he has always wanted me and I can't believe I'm about to suggest what I am but it really is the only way and we have no other options nor any time left to spare. I just hope Rhydon will be on board with it too.
