GEMMA
Yesterday when I had agreed to stay, I hadn't yet thought out of a plan in how I was gonna pull anything off that Paine wants me to. I mean, what if his mate comes and ruins everything? Then what do I do? Kill her? No I can't.
So this morning, I got up and got ready for the day after noticing a note on the dresser next to the bed that said I had clothes that Lorraine had given me from her closet.
Lorraine was curvy like me but still, she was a little smaller. Although when I opened the closet door and saw the shoes and the clothes, I was impressed as it seemed to be things I would wear for sure.
So I put on a tank and some jeans and then start walking out of the room to head downstairs and think of a plan while at the same time also feeding my growling stomach.
I stopped however next to the railing on top of the stairs as I overheard whispers coming from the kitchen of two people talking.
"Yeah well you know how Alpha feels. We can't go against his word." One male voice said.
"Yeah well I think this whole thing is bullshit. I mean how can you love someone you're not even sure is the same?! I hate this whole mate thing. Then to make matters worse, if the council finds out..." The other guys says.
"They won't. Now shut the hell up. Don't question the Alpha and whatever you do, don't let anyone, especially Gemma, know they are mates. The doctor said there will come the right time when things will go back to how they were once before." The other guy says.
Then the one he was talking to replies that he won't say anything. But little do they know, they just helped me figure out a way to make this plan of Paine's work.
I can't believe the 'Mighty-big-badass' Alpha Rhydon, thinks I'm his mate. This is gonna be fun for sure.
Then before I'm about to head down the stairs, I freeze as I hear the front door slam open and then shut as a pissed off, angry Rhydon stomps inside the house.
"Alpha." The two guys greet him.
"What the hell are you both doing here?! I thought I told you guys to help the others with securing the perimeters?!" He snaps at them with balled fists at his side.
"We were just grabbing a few of our things and then leaving." One of them says as they sound scared.
"Well leave then, NOW!" He yells at them.
Damn, somebody seems to be needing some prozac, a bottle of it maybe. I next start walking downstairs and hold my head up high to let him know that I am not afraid of him.
Then as soon as I turn the corner to walk into the kitchen, I bump into his chest.
"Excuse me." I began to say before he cut me off.
"MOVE!" He says through gritted teeth as I notice his eyes turning dark. Wow he is really pissed off.
Okay, now's the time to act like his mate. Hopefully I'm a good actress.
"I'm sorry baby." I say to him sounding innocent.
He looks at me taken back a little and the color in his eyes begins to subside and then in another split second, out of nowhere, his eyes become darker again as he tries to reach to touch me but yanks his hand back as if he got burned or something. Then he storms upstairs into his bedroom and slams the door behind him.
Well, that went well. I joked to myself as I shrugged off what just happened and continued into the kitchen to make myself something to eat.
I next started trying to think about the role of a Luna and what all they do. For Paine has never discussed that in being a possibility ever for me, or at least not any time soon.
Hopefully I can pull this all off because I don't want to feel Paine's wrath as I have seen and been a victim of how he can get.
