GEMMA
I have been in this cold darkened cell in their basement for a few days now that they have set up as a dungeon. The foul smell I could do without but it's standard I guess.
I won't lie, there's a huge part of me that feels bad I said what I said to him. Though on the other hand, I don't know why he said to me what he did. He's so full of it. Paine never would have done that and besides, I would have remembered all of what he said, right?
I take in a deep breath and let it out as I lay on the cot that Alpha Rhydon allowed for me along with a blanket and just went to sleep.
I was too tired and weak to do do anything because other than the gesture of him giving me the cot and blanket, I refused to eat his slop he gave me and not much water because I don't trust it. Paine always told me never to trust the enemy's food or drink.
The moment I closed my eyes, it didn't take me long to begin dreaming.
I was still laying down but on my back with the sunlight hitting my face and causing me to squint as I opened them.
When I sat up, I took a look around and noticed I was in the middle of the forest, surrounded by trees and the sun shining through the opening between them. So I started to slowly stand up and as soon as I did, I heard a young female's voice.
When I turned around, I noticed the girl looked to be close to my age as well as a little smaller physique then me but beautiful. She was smiling and I couldn't help get a familiar feeling as if I knew her.
"Hi Gem." She smiled.
"Hi." I replied confused.
"I know you don't remember me right now but, we used to be best friends. You once were a huntress for werewolves and I was Second In Command. Not to mention you are the best witch there is. I don't have much time so I need for you listen and understand something." She begins while walking towards me.
I don't feel scared but am curious as to what she's gonna be doing. Then when she gets close enough, she smiles at me again and grabs hold of both my hands. Then before I had a chance to ask her in what was going on, I started seeing things that I eventually realized were flashbacks.
They hit me hard and fast all at the same time of the things that has happened to me from the death of my parents to the fight that Rhydon spoke about earlier, along with Paine and then I see Rhydon coming out from the office of the Moon Goddess and he's sad but then quickly goes to being happy and being with someone else. Though I couldn't see what she looked like.
When I finally came to the present, I felt my knees weaken and make me fall to the ground onto my knees. I started to cry.
"Why?" I cry to her while looking up at her.
"I unfortunately don't have the answer for that. But that doesn't matter. What matters is that things can be fixed. You both can still make this work." She says.
"But how? Especially if he found somebody? I'm sure that's why he went to the Moon Goddess. To ask for another mate. So how can there be an us still?" I ask.
"I'm sorry I showed you that. He hasn't moved on and hasn't seen the Moon Goddess yet. But it will happen very soon if you don't convince him that you are the real Gemma. His mate and the one he fell in love with. Then give him some time to process. He will come around. Just give him a chance. And as far as this Paine guy goes, he has to be stopped. Which one of the ways to do that, is for you to do a detox and go to the witch we normally go see for things. She will give you what you need." She finishes.
As she turns and starts walking back where she came from, I stop her as I stand up.
"Wait! Did I...did I cause you to die?" I ask her. "Was it my fault?" I ask her with hesitation and pain.
"No. And remember what we always thought about death? It's just us going into a deep sleep." She winks and smiles.
Then continues walking until she disappears and a bright light starts appearing and I suddenly wake up.Oh my god. I hold my head as it starts to hurt and I suddenly hear the door open up and when I see it's Corwin, carrying a tray of food and drink down, I instantly feel relieved.
"Corwin." I start to smile and try to get up but instantly realize that from how dehydrated I have allowed myself to become and starved, I right away grab the bars on the doors as I know they are covered in wolfs bane and have no effect on me.
Corwin looks at me and stands a few feet from the cell in shock.
"Gemma? Are you alright?" He asked worried.
"Yes, I'm fine." I try and force a smile despite how weak it is. "Is Rhydon home?"
"He is, but Gemma, he doesn't want to talk to you." He says.
"I know. I know why. But I really need to speak with him, please. It's important. I know what's happened to me and I need to get out of here and find a witch that can help me." I start to cry.
"I can't do that Gemma." He says with tears in his eyes.
Then he slides the bowl of food and the glass through the bars and then gets up to leave.
"Please. Corwin, it's me. Gemma. The real Gemma. Kora visited me in my dream and told me, I had to make things right. But first, I need help from a certain witch. She can help me detox from this..." I started and the next thing I feel is the excruciating pain in my head once again and then I fall to the ground on all fours and suddenly everything goes black.
Next chapter will be posted soon! :)
