I hated leaving Rhydon the way that I did but I had to. He hadn't spoken to me and I was able to see in the water, with one of my spells that he was okay. Besides, I didn't know if he'd try and stop me and we didn't have anymore time, so I left.
The Elders heard me out after it took some time to convince them to. Though as soon as they heard and saw all evidence and information, they agreed to allow my help.
I however, told them that they needed to allow Rhydon's pack to help us as well and they agreed. Then they gave me back my title, as Lead Huntress again, gave me their condolences for Kora's death and then told me we would have a week to train because somehow, hours before I arrived, Paine came over and ended up declaring a war.
Once I left the council's and reunited with my group/friends and caught up with them all, later on, I informed Lorraine through mind-link about the training and said her and Corwin as well as the rest of the pack would come in the next two days, which was perfect.
Though she mentioned that Rhydon might not show up. Which of course made me a little disappointed but I didn't have time to dwell on anything like that. So I just tried not to think about it and focus on the training.
In fact, I got so caught up in the training that I hadn't realized the day had actually already come where Rhydon's pack would arrive.
Out-of-habit, as soon as the pack showed up, them and my guys all glared at one another.
"Hey! Remember, we are a team and are trying to break this whole 'hatred' bullshit between each other!" I remind them.
It takes a few moments before they all start getting a long but it finally works out.
Then after I tell the pack to set up their tents and everything, I notice all my guys taking a water break but all seem to be frozen while looking behind me at something.
The moment I turn to see what they're all looking at, I stop in my tracks and am surprised to see Alpha Rhydon, with a duffel bag in his hand as he stands several feet away staring at me.
I'm not sure why things feel so awkward but they do. Corwin calls out for him to go where him and Lorraine are setting up their tent and heads over near them to begin setting his up.
I then make my way over towards my tent and try to wipe the tears falling down my face from both the joy I feel for seeing him and yet the sadness from how we left off with each other.
"Huntress?" I hear one of my people say outside my tent.
"Yes?" I try and hide the fact I was sad.
"The wolves would like to know when they are gonna start training with us?" She asks.
"I'll be out in a minute and I'll let them know." I tell her.
She walks off to tell them as I pull myself together and then take in a couple of deep breaths and try to re-focus on what we're doing right now before I walk out there.
Once I come back out, all of my group and his pack are all standing waiting for me.
"Alright. So since we all know why we're here already, I'll cut to the chase. First, my people will all show you some new moves we thought of that also could potentially help shield you all from getting too hurt or even at all. Then we'll practice with that. Afterwards, we'll see what you guys have brought that's new to your fighting techniques and train using those moves as well." I finish.
"Any questions?" I add.
Everyone looks at me and I try to still not focus on Rhydon but oh my god, he is wearing a damn black man's tank with his dark jeans and tattoos all over his muscular physique.
"Huntress?" I heard one of my guys say to get my attention.
I quickly snap my head to them.
"Yeah?" I ask.
"You good?" He asked.
"Yeah. Of course, sorry. Uh, let's get started."
This might be harder than I thought.
