I can't believe I just heard this. The words keep repeating on my mind and I can describe myself as frozen and open-mouthed right now.
I can't believe that my biggest competitor is exactly my friend.
"Why? Is there something wrong?" Han Jae asked me. I just shook my head. I walked closer to Jennie and watched her talk with Taehyung.
"Where's your dad?" I heard the doctor asked Jennie. I come to him. "I'm so sorry sir, but we did not save your wife from stage four cancer."
I suddenly felt myself breaking apart little by little. I know that this time will come, that my wife will eventually die and not survive in her sickness but I didn't know that it hurts like this. My tears suddenly fall. Jennie looked to me worriedly.
"Dad..."
I just hugged her. I know that she would still not understand. "My deepest condolence, Hang Joon," Han Jae said and lightly tapped my shoulder.
