Haven't done this in a while. Technically this is a second part to Chapter 21 which is over 5300 words long so good job if you guessed that. Anyways, this is the same concept as 21; just a conversation needed to be here. (Had to add something and unpublish this since my WiFi might go out)

------------------

Cliff was watching the whole deal with Nightmare walking off after learning about part of Echo's past who then followed him after talking to Sabre and Lucas. As of now Sabre was laying on Dark's chest with Lucas and Light sitting next to them. He hurt all of them in some way, let it be physically or mentally, he hurt them: he killed Rainbow's best friend; he killed Dark's crush and best friend; a reason why Nightmare's family broke apart and so much more. He wanted to help, he made a deal, but someone else got involved and messed with his mind. He wasn't in control, nether was Rift. Out of everyone they meant, Blue was the only one who tried to understand why Rift and him were doing what they were doing. Green tried to do the same thing, but with an older brother like Plague and being young, he couldn't understand or do much.

Out of the humans, Steves, and entities Cliff wanted to apologize to Sabre the most for everything, but he was so scared to do so even though he knows Sabre would forgive him. The reason he knows this is not because Sabre and Blue are the same, it's because he knew Sabre as a child. Things could have turned out better if that event didn't happen, if he had talked then things would have been better. If he had talked then Blue wouldn't be dead.

Blue.

That name sent a stab to his heart; Blue was the nicest Steve he ever known and when he accidentally killed him (remember his target was Rainbow), it tore him up in the inside. One of the reasons he went with Rift's plan was to protect him Blue. All Cliff wanted was to protect Blue all those years ago, but things got out of control. He tried to explain what was happening to Rainbow when they fought, but something took over. It was the same thing that happened to Rift back in the Nightmare Dimension, but nothing snapped Rift out of control like Blue's death did for him,

"Cliff?"

Cliff blinked to see Sabre standing in front of him, that's when he noticed Vi and Plague were back in the living room talking to Light, Dark and Lucas.

"Yes Sabre"

"Is something wrong? You haven't said a word or moved for a long time" Sabre said in concern.

'He's so much like Blue'

"I'm fine but I have to tell you something"

Cliff went to get up so he was standing face to face with Sabre, but he flinch from still being sore after the fight in the Nightmare Dimension. When Sabre saw Cliff flinch, he gently pushed him back down on the rocking chair and sat next to him since there was enough room for the both of them.

"What is it that you need to tell me?"

Cliff took a deep breath before he spoke, "First off, I want to say I'm sorry for everything. And I know you're not Blue, but I'm am deeply sorry for what happened all those years ago" Cliff wasn't apologizing for what happened with Blue, he was apologizing for failing him.

"It's okay Cliff, it was mostly miscommunication with each other that caused most of this" Sabre smiled.

"I knew you were going to say that" Cliff whispered then mumbled to himself, "You haven't changed at all"

"What was that?"

Cliff didn't say anything as he pulled Sabre into a hug and held him there, his warmth was still there. He remembers Blue having the same warmth even though he lived in such a cold place.
