Chapter 18

Echo teleport her and Dark outside of the entrance of a cave she knows very well. Wasting no time, Echo grabbed Dark's hand and quickly lead him inside the cave.

Dark had a little problem keeping up with the Ender's pace and understanding what was happening. His dad said to trust her, yet Dark could not help but feel as though the girl was hiding something, something big.

"Where are we going?" Dark ask in a stern voice. He did not try to stop because he felt that this girl is stronger and more powerful than she appears to be.

Echo did not respond to the Steve's question as she picked up her pace and muttering quietly to herself. Dark was about to ask again when he heard two familiar voices getting louder as they walk in the same direction.

"Why can't we get in!?" One said in a panicked voice.

"I don't know, maybe he knew we were his friends" Another said in an angry tone.

"But how?!"

"I don't know!"

There was a bang followed by an angry groan.

When Dark and Echo rounded a corner, Dark saw two Steves he had not seen in a long time.

"Positive? Negative?"

The two Steves turned to see the dark Steve and a purple girl.

"Cuz? What are you doing here?" Positive ask. (Cuz means cousin if no one knew. Also they're not related, they just known each other for a long time)

"And who's the girl next to you?" Negative ask pointing at Echo.

Dark shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know. My dad just said to go with her and that I can trust her, but she has yet to explain anything!"

Echo shot Dark a small glare, "Why can't you just listen to him and trust me?"

"Because I don't know you" Dark rolled his eyes before remember about where they are, "What are you two doing here anyways?"

The brothers looked at each other with nervous expressions, they could not exactly tell Dark that their friend is Dark's biggest enemy is locked in the very room that they are trying to get into. Thankfully all of the attention was focused on the screams from the room they were all standing in front of.

"Oh no" Positive breathed and tried again to open the door but it would not even budge, "Come on! Open up!"

"It's no use" Echo said, "Rift made sure no one can get in, at least no one who wants to save that person that is"

"Okay why does it feel as though I'm always in the dark. First off, who are you and why does my dad trust you? Second, who is so important in that room that Rift does not want anyone to get in? Third why are Positive and Negative here in the first place trying to get whoever in that room out?" Dark asked. He was tired of feeling as though everyone around was keeping secrets from him.

Echo look at her wrist where a watch was present, "First question Bee and I have known each other for a long time so he can explain. Answer to the third question the person in that room are the brothers' friend. Second Positive and Negative can explain, but the person is the only person who can save Rift."

"He does not need any saving!" Dark growled.

"Everyone needs to be saved!"

"Not after what he did to Blue!"

"There's more to that story Dark! Like there is more to the story about Light's death and what happened with Reverse! Instead of assuming just listen for once!" Echo said in a stern voice.
