"He's in a coma. We found him floating in the middle of the sea. It's a miracle he is still alive."

"Where is he?" Tanong ng isang babae sa doktor na kausap. "I want to see him." Aniya.

"Okay, Madam Saavedra, but you won't benefit anything from seeing that man. In fact, he seems to be brain dead. Ang tanging bumubuhay na lang sa kanya ay ang makina na kinabit ko sa kanyang katawan. We're planning to remove the machines that keeps him alive... we cannot even say he is alive, he is barely breathing now too."

"It is my choice whether he lives or die. Do you understand, Dr. Rostova?"

Ngumiti nang pilit si Dr. Rostova at walang magawa kundi tumango. After all, Saavedra Stilinski is the daughter of the man he works for. "He's in this cabin." Tinuro ni Dr. Rostova ang isa sa mga kuwadra ng barkong sinasakyan nila kung saan naroroon ang lalaking walang malay.

Walang sabi namang pumasok doon si Saavedra. When she was finally inside the room, nakita niya ang isang lalaki na tila mahimbing na natutulog. Maraming pasa at sugat sa kanyang katawan na sumisilip sa kanyang suot na damit. His lips were dry and chapped. Kahit pa man na medyo may kaitiman siya, napansin ni Saavedra ang pamumutla niya.

Yes, this man is definitely dying. Saavedra said. "You were not lying when you said that he is brain dead."

Ngumiti naman nang may pagdadalawang-isip si Dr. Rostova.

"Is there no other way to save this man?"

"Bakit ninyo po siya gustong isalba? Hindi ninyo naman iyan kilala." Saad ni Dr. Rostova, when Saavedra eyed him with her notorious glare, that's when Dr. Rostova thought silently that he should have kept his mouth shut.

"I can save him, but we do not have the right equipment here. We need to get him into my laboratory in Metropolis City." Dr. Rostova said to break the cold silence that lingered in the air.

"That's good, then. Keep him alive until we get to the main city." Saavedra ordered and left the room. While on her way to the ship's sundeck, Saavedra fished for her phone in her pocket and opened a folder that contains of the most notorious pirates in the world.

And there, she saw the face of the man who was brain dead.

Alexander Renaissance, AKA King of Pirates. Head bounty: Php1,000,000,000,000.00

Ngumisi si Saavedra. One trillion. She had the pirate who has the most bounty. Saavedra licked the corner of her lips, "ah, to be a pirate hunter is such a nice profession." She grinned. "But I have other plans for this man." She whispered.

Present Time

"Hello, everyone. Thank you for coming to the grand opening of Renaissance Resort! In this very important night, I would like to mention my business partner, Aurelius Sarmiento," tumingin ako sa gawi ni Aurelius at ngumiti. He smiled back and raised the glass of wine was holding, "thank you for being there, Aurelius. Without you, this resort would not be possible."

He winked at me and grinned, "of course, Kira! Who can resist a beautiful girl like you?"

Everyone laughed because of his remarks. I chuckled afterwards. I looked at my audience, most of them were people who built stalls in my resort. We were all businessmen here; the only difference is that I own the place.

Two years ago, I was a very miserable mother. It was hard to find a purpose in my life. Hindi pwede na isang ina lang ako ng aming anak. I needed to be more. I needed something to do, so that I can forget him... because I wanted to be happy now. I wanted to move on.
