sincerity is scary

"Please,  sir. I'm  begging you." she pleaded, eyes shining with tears thats threatening to fall.

"I said no! You're just wasting your time. You should leave before I call for security!"

"Sir,  this will never be a waste of time 'cause it's jhoana we're talking about.. "

The man who wear the authorative aura and carries the title of being Jhoana's father stared at her,  hard.  Almost making her pee her pants if not for the current situation.  Her adrenaline is everywhere.

"Please, sir. A five minutes would mean so so so much to me. Please po,  just this one.. "

The man peirced his squinting eyes at Bea who is almost squirming in anxiousness and nervousness.

"Ok.. Just this one!  Start.  Now."

Just as he left those words in the air,  Bea blurted out the first words that comes to mind.

"I love her."

"And I've heard that a lot of times already.  And it won't  change a thing!"

Bea hung her head low,  she almost give up because she thought that her love isn't enough. But then,  it's  Jho they're talking about. And she got her,  she would never give up on her.

Just as Bea was about to defend another argument Jho's father heave a sigh and beat her to it.

"Let's put it this way.."

They made eye contact,  Bea was the first to avert her eyes,  she just cannot. She will pee her pants sa sobrang kaba.

"You wanna know why I don't want you two to be together? Why I don't want you for her?"

It was a rhetorical question.

"hindi dahil sa hindi ka lalake, Bea.  O dahil nakakahiya at huhusgahan kayo ng ibang tao. Hindi yun. Jhoana is my princess, and that will never change. She's a God's gift to us.  Inalagaan at minahal namin sya ng sobra sobra, to the point that we would do anything,  everything for her safety and security. And you know what? I see that you can't do that for us. You can't treat her the way we do,  you can't take care of her the way we want her to be taken care of. I've seen how you once took her love to you ,that you're saying, for granted. You hurt her feelings.  So tell me how am I gonna be comforted to give her to you,  to give you my blessing? Huh?"

Bea finally let out the sob that she's been holding and the tears flow out faster than the other.

"That's why I'm here, Sir. I want to prove myself to you. Alam ko pong nagkamali ako,  I made a mistake,  a lot of it, actually. I'm quiet self-centered and I don't have a good track record... But that was before. Because when I met your daughter, a lot has changed sa sarili ko, sa paligid ko. Tama po kayo,  your daughter is a God's gift, because I was graced with hope and selfworthy when I met her. Before her,  everything was black and white, a monotone.. Every aspect is darker than the other.  Patapon po ang buhay ko. And now? Just by looking at her, I realize that I can be better.  Better for myself to be better for her. Kung ano po ako ngayon ay dahil kay Jho. Because I would never imagine myself to be this happy,  I would never imagine myself having the courage, the braveness to stand in front of the love of my life's father, asking him,  begging him to give me a chance,  just a chance to prove myself worthy of her daughter. Yes,  nagkamali ako with her but that's because I'm still learning, I'm not used to so much good things in my life that she is causing,  and I hurt her in the run. But please know that it was never my intention to hurt her."

"She makes everything better, greater. That's why I will do everything in my willpower to protect her, cause she's  one in a million. Ang pagmamahal sa sarili na tinuro nya ang naging daan para mahalin ko sya. At kung hindi ko na po talaga mababago ang isip nyo,  I will still do what she thaught me. To look at the brighter side of the story, and still thank you."

The man looked stunned for a second but it was a flash faster than the blink of an eye.

"I will thank you kasi... Kasi, dahil sainyo, I was luckily given a chance to know and love a person like her. I got a chance to have a glimpse of how wonderful a person she is. So if you still hold your ground, kung hindi po talaga pwede, but I'm hoping you would let me,  I will have to be contented to just remember and reminisce the chapter in my life where she is in. She love me and I love her once in my lifetime and that must be enough for me to not lose myself again...

That's all that matters cause she is all that matters."
