AUSTIN'S POV

God. She looks so beautiful today.

Her hair looks so touchable in slight waves.

She went to her appointment on Saturday and decided to change her look up a bit, and I got to say. She looks amazing.

It's subtle. Her roots are still her natural color.

I can't help but notice how much it compliments her.

I watch as she opens her locker and takes out the books she'll need for her first four hours. Botany/Zoology, World History, Critical Thinking & Life Skills, and Math of Finance. All in that order. I seem to fall into a whole different world when I stare at her. I laugh quietly as I see her struggle to grab her pen that's all the way in the back of her locker on the top shelf.

I'm brought back to Earth when I see her jock boyfriend, Jimmy approach. He effortlessly grabs her pen for her and hands it to her. She awards him a kiss. My heart starts to burn with jealousy as I watch them together.

"How was your morning?" She asks him. He answers her, but I don't focus on his words. Only her. She shuts her locker and quickly intertwines her hand into his. As they continue on with their conversation I patiently wait until they are far enough down the hall until I follow them.

She kisses him goodbye and walks into her first hour. A few students walk into the same class, and I follow after them. I go directly to the desk in back of the class.

I spend mostly the class time watching her concentrate on her work. She's biting the end of her pen; her eyebrows knit together as she comes across a question she doesn't understand. She raises her hand.

"Mr. James, I don't understand number five. Can you help me, please?" She asks sweetly.

I indulge my ears in every syllable that flows from her desirable lips.

"I'm pretty sure Mr. Mahone can assist you. He's finished already." Mr. James says as he types something into his computer. I instantly look down when I feel her gaze back at me. She walks over to me and sits down on the empty desk next to me.

"Hi. I don't think we've really talked before. I'm Becky." She says nicely.

Yes, we've talked before. I'm just waiting for you to remember.

"I'm Austin." Is what I say instead. She smiles.

"I think I'm just super tired this morning. I can't remember what our sister galaxy is." She yawns, I watch as she covers her mouth. Her eyes squint and I can't stop myself from smiling at how cute she is.

"Andromeda." I say simply.

"Andromeda?" She repeats. I nod. She writes it down on her paper.

"Thanks, Austin." She says. I smirk at her as she goes back to her desk.

She said my name.

Its sounded so familiar and welcoming from her lips. I haven't heard her say my name for a long time.

The bell rings. As always Becky is the first one out the door. I'm the last.

In the hallway, I follow a safe distance from her to make sure I'm not seen. I feel a hand clamp on my shoulder. My reflexes seem to have a mind of their own. I grip the hand and twist it. I push the person's face against the wall nearby. My hand grips the arm as if I was about to arrest them. The person shouts in pain.

"Austin! Its me, bro!" Alex strains. I release him from my death grip.

"I told you not to do that anymore." I spit. Alex rubs his arm.

"Don't feel bad. Austin was too busy looking at Be-cky to notice you, Alex." Rob teases. I glare at him, " What?" He asks, "Why don't you talk to her like a normal person?" Rob laughs, "I mean, it's pathetic." Zach smacks Rob's arm.

"Shut the fuck up, Robert." I growl. He puts his hands up in defense. I walk passed them to my next class.

× × × × ×

"Austin. Psst!" The girl behind me passes a note to me. I lean forward to pass it to the next person, but she stops me by grabbing my shoulders and pulling me backs towards her, "It's for you." She whispers seductively in my ear. I unfold the paper.

'Here's my number.

555-234-4587

Call me. ;)'

I look behind me and the random girl winks at me. I turn back around.

"Sorry, angel. I'm taken." I say as I crumple up the note and toss it across the classroom, and make it in the trash bin.

It's true. I was taken. My heart was taken by a girl that doesn't know me anymore.

I look at Becky quickly to see if she noticed the stunt I pulled.

Unfortunately, she's focusing on her work.

I wish she'd see me. I'd wish she'd remember me.
