(Jem's P.O.V)
Jem knew he could get through the crowd faster and easier if Scout and Dill didn't have to follow him. Maybe this was his chance, to run away. It seemed like the perfect time. But he didn't know how long he'd last, and in all honesty he did want to see Atticus again. They ran through large crowds, dodged Boo's deadly grip, and the tongues. Finally they were at the edge of the town, but so was Boo.
