Namjoon drank his coffee slowly as he waited for the man to arrive. His mask was pulled down as he hummed along with the new melody playing in the cafe, tapping his foot along the beat. The atmosphere was warm and comfortable so he didn't mind being outside alone except for the fact that he didn't tell anyone where he was going. Not his fault that he thought they wouldn't care.
He had been to the library before coming here because he just felt the need to get some motivation. There comeback was in four months and god when they'll ask for a new melody. He thought it was better to prepare for it than be sorry afterwards.
Soon, the bell at the cafe entrance chimed as someone entered the place.
Namjoon didn't mind. He was too lazy to see if he was here. He'd recognize namjoon by his pastel green hoodie anyway. After a few seconds, someone tapped his shoulder from behind and he flinched, nearly spilling his coffee completely before he saw who it was. A huge smile made his way onto his lips, making his dimples prominent as he recognized the man even when he was hidden behind the mask.
"Thank god! It's just you", namjoon said as he kept his coffee cup down on the table and reached forward to hug the shorter male. The man smiled as he wrapped his arms around namjoon and patted his head softy. Soon, namjoon released the hug and allowed his friend to take a seat in front of him.
"You look so cute, Joonie", he cooed making namjoon whine.
"Jackson! You know I'll feel little if you do that..", namjoon mumbled the last part and hid his face behind his hands, allowing Jackson to let out a small laugh and move his hands from his face.
"Okay I won't, what do you wanna do now? You know I got worried when you suddenly called me and said you wanted to have fun because you never do that", Jackson pouted a bit. Namjoon never really hung around with him. Always telling him that he was busy or hanging around with his group. So, he was a bit confused at the sudden request. Nonetheless, he was happy too.
"Ah.. It's nothing. I just missed you", namjoon lied. He just wanted to get out of that house, it was suffocating him to be there and feel all of them excluding taehyung, throwing daggers at him. He even lied to taehyung when he asked where he was going. He knew he shouldn't have but he did it anyway. He lied that he was going to Rkive. He felt guilty somehow but he quickly put the feeling aside so that he could allow himself to enjoy the without worrying about anything or anyone else. Even if it was only for a day.
"Joon", Jackson said in an alarming voice. "You're zoning out. Are you alright?", he asked, genuinely worried.
"I'm sorry. And yeah, I'm fine. What happened to me?", namjoon laughed a little to cover up, too bad Jackson knew him too well.
"Okay. You're fine. Now tell me what's bothering you", his best friend replied and namjoon nearly sobbed. But he regained his composure fast. There weren't many people in the cafe but he couldn't risk him and Jackson getting into a Mob.
You may think he was overreacting. But the reason why he wanted to cry was because of what jackson said. His best friend saw right through him. Even when he never lived with him and only spent time with him in award shows or festivals, he knew namjoon so well. Jackson saw it right away that namjoon was struggling.
Even his boyfriends, with whom he had lived half of his life, couldn't tell that there was something wrong with him. And they hurt him. But they didn't know. It was his fault that he gets hurt so easily.
"Namjoon, we're not leaving until you tell me what's on your mind", Jackson's voice interrupted Namjoon's train of thoughts as he smiled at his bestie.
"Fine. I'll tell you", only half of it. Namjoon thought. "But let's goooooo now", he whined childishly, his little side kicking in. Jackson couldn't risk people knowing about namjoon being a little so he agreed with a smile and pulled Namjoon's mask up, adjusting his cap. Namjoon giggled as he slipped further into subspace. Jackson gave him a sad smile and got up from his chair, namjoon following automatically.
The elder adjusted his own hood before taking Namjoon's hand in his own. As namjoon giggled again, Jackson couldn't help himself so he kissed Namjoon's cheek. And he couldn't bother about people gawking at them. Atleast, not for now. Because well, namjoon looked so cute!
Namjoon just let out a small giggle again and clung onto Jackson's arm. "We're going to have so much fun, Joonie", the shorter said softly. Namjoon nodded furiously at his words, earning a small laugh in return.
They got outside the Cafe, thanking for their service. Jackson opened his car door for namjoon as he ushered the male to get inside. Namjoon complied without any hesitation whatsoever. Jackson pinched the tall baby's nose just to laugh when he whined and shooed his hand away. Namjoon was really very cute. But Joonie was cuter! Either way, he loved both of them equally.
Now he just had to figure out what was bothering him and then he'll be carefree. He loved namjoon. Of course he did. You'd be a fool to miss out on someone like him. He was his best friend and he wanted nothing more than protecting him from the world and giving him all the love and happiness he deserved.
He started the engine and felt a pair of soft lips on his cheek. "I love you, Jackie!", he squealed.
Jackson just laughed and carresed his cheek before driving off. Both laughing and smiling at each other, unaware of someone watching them from afar.
