Chapter Fourteen

I yawned, and turned to my side. My werewolf lover wasn't holding me in his grips anymore. He was now huddled under the blankets, forming a large mass under the covers. I couldn't help but giggle slightly. I did find it unusual that my boyfriend was no longer holding me, but shook it off.

"Jerick", I whispered, slightly tapping the mass under the white sheets. There wasn't a vocal response, but it did shift slightly. "Babe"... I deadpanned down at the huddled mass. I shook it more violently. This time, a response was reciprocated. No voice. Only a husky grunt.

"Babe... This isn't funny". I deadpanned once more. "It's 7p.m. and I'd love it if you would get up with me and finally put our plans together". I heard a faint snort erupt from the mass. I was taken aback at the response. It was too odd. "Excuse me?" I squawked, and pulled the blanket back.

I squealed. Nothing was under the blankets. But... There was? Lightning illuminated the dark room suddenly. The rain started to violently tap on the windows adjacent to me. A second bolt of lighting lit the footer of the bed, exposing a tall, black shadow figure from up above me.

The Misty arms outstretched, exposing it's long, craggly finger-like appendages. I couldn't move. I was in complete shock from the realization that it was either a complete nightmare, or real life. I was hoping it was real, just to prove I wasn't a nut case to the pack.

"YOU DON'T BELONG".

The deep, heavy whisper which erupted from its non-existent mouth, seemed to be echoing for aeons in my head.

"I WARNED YOU ONCE, BUT NOT THIS TIME".

I still couldn't move. I was paralyzed in complete fear. Its fingers were inches away from me. The eyes were blacker than its body, like little deep voids, which had a shine to them. Going deeper than deep itself into the unknown.

I closed my eyes, waiting for it to kill me, or destroy my mind.

Silence...

Complete, utter silence...

I was being shaken from my right shoulders. I still didn't open my eyes.

"Babe!"

I instantly recognized the voice. It was Jerick. I opened my eyes slightly, expecting me to be confused at his presence, but I wasn't. It didn't kill me, or erase my memory.

I didn't think so at least...

"Xander, it worked!" Jerick erupted once again. "Hun, I'm sorry I had to leave you through all of that. We all knew what was going on. No matter how much I wanted to go in and rescue you, I knew I had to let it go. I'm sorry".

I hugged him. "Why are you sorry?" I deadpanned, giving him a worried glance. "You caught it did you?" I glanced around the room, at everyone's worried faces.

"Sure did, scooter!" Chey's unmistakable triumphant voice echoed out. "Thanks to the help of this guy!"

From the doorway stepped a short man in a white lab coat. He had no hair, but big blocky glasses. He almost looked like Danny DeVito from them old ass movies.

"Hello", echoed the small man in a breathy, mid voice. "I'm doctor Sunny". The doctor held up a closed steel box. It was shaking rapidly. "Your problem has been taken care of. Have a good night".

The short, small man stopped, turned, and looked at Jerick. "I expect my payment on Tuesday of next week". He staggered off into the dark hallway, making small steps.
