Elliot's POV
Where did she go? Athena sneakily left her room like 2 hours ago and hasn't come back. I watched her leave out the front door and she looked around as if someone was going to stop her. What a strange girl.
"Yo! Mark, you should come check out the new place." I said into the phone as I answered his call.
"Sure, dude just send me the address and I'll come right over. I got a new game we can play." He said.
"Cool see you soon." After that I hung up and sent him a text with my new address.
I kept glancing out the window to see of I could get a glimpse of the girl that has captured my attention lately.
About forty five minutes later Mark came walking into my room.
"Hey dude, I got the new Mortal Kombat." He said in greeting.
"Plug it in." I said
We began to play as I continuously looked out the window to see of Athena had come back yet. I don't know why I'm so enamoured by her, she just intrigues me.
"What are you looking at dude?" Mark asked from beside me pausing the game.
"I don't know. Nothing really." I said
"Who lives next door?" He asked following my gaze.
"You know that hot chick we met the other day at D's studio?" I asked, feeling a little uneasy for referring her as a hot chick. Weird.
"Athena?" He questioned. He remembers her name?
"Yeah. She lives right in that bedroom there." I explained pointing into the neat room.
"I ran into her at the park on my way here." He scratched the back of his neck. This is something he does whenever he's nervous or uncomfortable.
"Okay? Dude, I saw her in a towel yesterday. She's fucking gorgeous.."
"Sure. I think there's something going on with her though." Why did my heart just start to race?
"What do you mean?'
"When I saw her at the park she had a brace thing on her knee and she was limping. She also had bruises up and down her leg. I asked her about it, but she said she fell when she was dancing." He explained.
"She probably did, I've seen D with all kinds of bruises from dancing." I said trying to seem calm on the outside, while on the inside I'm starting to feel really worried.
"Maybe, but she wouldn't make eye contact and she made up some story about someone distracting her. Do you remember how in the zone she was when we saw her doing that dance the other day? We literally came in there shouting and laughing and making all kinds of obnoxious noise and she didn't even notice we were in there. She doesn't seem like she's even on this planet when she's dancing. I doubt she was distracted by someone shouting in the studio." He ranted a bit.
"What do you think is going on?" I ask clenching my fists, afraid of what Mark is going to say.
"I asked her someone did it to her and she just laughed and looked around, she looked nervous as hell." He said finally looking at me. "Dude...are you okay?" He asked.
I cleared my throat "Why?" I asked.
"You look like you're about to kill someone." He said looking at me with a scrutinizing gaze.
"Do you think someone is actually hurting her?" I asked hoping he'll say no.
"I hope not, but something about her whole story just didn't feel right." He said "I uh... I gave her my number and told her she can talk to me about anything if she ever needs to."
