Eli's POV
Prom. Tonight, actually in about twenty minutes, I get to pick up my beautiful girl and take her to our senior prom. In about a week we graduate and we have to start our lives. We get to start the rest of our lives.
My life with Athena starts next weeks. I couldn't help the smile the fell on my face. The smile that hasn't left since she said yes to me taking her to prom last month.
This past month has been stress free and relaxing, well, as stress free and relaxing as a normal senior year can be. We took our finals already since the last week of school for seniors is full of activities before graduation. Athena passed all of hers with flying colors, of course. I passed all mine too, but not getting nearly as good of grades as she did.
Mark and I are at our house getting ready while Athena and Savannah are both at my dad's place. I guess Savannah's place is out of the question since it's being tented right now for some kind of bug, I don't know. It worked out though because Deliah was over the moon to get to help the girls prepare for prom.
I went with a simple black suit with a black button up and an emerald green tie, to match Athena's dress. Mark is wearing a similar suit to mine, but his shirt is white and his tie is a light blue color. Athena and Savannah picked out our ties, they didn't want us to see their dresses so they figured this would be the easiest way to get matching ties.
"Do you have the corsage?" Mark asked, pulling me from my train of thought.
"Yeah, you?" He nodded in response. "Let's go get our girls then." I smiled
"Let's do it." We loaded into the limo we decided to surprise the girls with. Dad helped pay for that of course. He wanted this night to be great for Athena mostly. He stressed to me that she needed this night to be happy and completely stress free. He didn't need to though, that was my plan anyway. To give her a perfect night.
In no time we were pulling up in front of dad's house where we would finally see our girls. We walked to the door and walked in without knocking. I never knock when I visit, why would I?
"Hey boys!" Dad smiled from his spot on the couch, "You clean up well kid." He said to me and I chuckled.
"Thanks I try." I said flexing my muscles like a dork. He laughed along with Mark.
"Are the girls ready?" Mark asked.
"I'll go check." We nodded and he walked up the stair. Savannah insisted that they would be making a grand entrance. I think that's why they wanted to get ready here instead of at mine and Athena's place. They want to make their descent down the stairs like something out of a movie. I didn't mind though, I feel like I need another moment before I see my girl all fancy in her dress.
"How do I look?" Mark asked, sounding nervous. I chuckled and straightened his tie for him.
"Better."
"Thanks." He breathed in relief making me laugh again.
"Hold on! I need my shoes!" I heard Athena say from upstairs and all of a sudden I understood how Mark was feeling.
"Shit. Now me? Do I look okay?" I asked and it was his turn to laugh at me. I just need to look as good as I can for Athena.
"Yeah man, you look fine. You smell fine. You'll be fine." I nodded and let out my own relieved breath.
"Should I be worried?" I heard from the bottom of the stairs.
"Wow." Mark breathed out as he looked at his girlfriend.
