Athena's POV
"Mommy, can I hold sissy?" Avery asked barging into our bedroom.
"Sure sweet girl, let's go sit on the couch. Where's daddy?" I questioned her while I grabbed my youngest daughter from her bassinet.
"He's watching football." She giggled and I laughed with her.
We walked from the bedroom, Aurora in my arms and Avery bouncing excitedly beside me, to the living room where my handsome husband sat in front of the TV. The game was going in front of him, but when I walked in front of the couch I noticed him leaned back against the cushion, eyes closed and lips parted slightly as his chest rose and fell in a steady rhythm.
I chuckled. I couldn't blame him for passing out. Last night Aurora had woken us up six different times. She was cluster feeding, so we were up most of the night. We didn't mind though. All the sleepless nights in the world are worth it for our girls.
We just got home from the hospital two days ago. Aurora and I were perfectly healthy after the delivery, so we didn't have to stay long.
"Let's try to be quiet. Daddy needs to sleep a bit okay sweet girl?" I spoke to Avery.
"Okay." She whispered. She hopped up into the large reclining chair and outstretched her arms opening and closing her little hands in the 'gimme' motions. I let out another small laugh and placed my youngest, sleeping, daughter in her arms. I left my hand behind Aurora's to support her head. "Hi sissy. How are you today?" She looked down at the newborn baby with a big smile. My heart warmed at the sight. Avery is already such a great big sister.
"My girls!" I heard from behind me. My smile grew as my husband woke up. "Why didn't you wake me?" He wondered.
"You looked like you need a little nap." I giggled and Avery laughed with me.
"Who needs sleep when I have you three beauties?" He rhetorically asked. "What do you think of the baby Ave's?"
"I think she's beautiful. She looks like mommy." She told him.
"You know who else looks like mommy?" He spoke coming closer to where we were. He squatted beside me and put an arm around my waist before kissing my temple.
"Who?" Avery looked confused.
"You do princess. You look just like your momma." He kissed the top of her head.
"Well, then we have to have another baby so that they can look like daddy." Avery stated so surely.
"Mm I like that idea." Eli agreed winking at me. I blushed. Stupid, I know. After being together for so long he still manages to make me blush.
We spent the rest of the morning watching Disney movies together. All four of us. Although Aurora obviously wasn't paying attention. Eli and I took turns changing diapers, and comforting her when she cried. I fed her, a lot, and Avery tried explaining what was happening on the TV. It was the sweetest thing I'd ever seen.
Around one we put both of the girls down for a nap. Hoping that Aurora would stay asleep for at least an hour.
"Come here wife." Eli called after he plopped on the couch. I listened and cuddled up to him.
"Have you talked to Robby at all since we got back from the hospital?" I asked him.
"He called today just to catch me up on some of my open cases. They haven't really made much progress on anything." He answered while one of his hand ran soothingly through my hair. "Speaking of work, I never got to tell you about my day before you went into labor."
