Athena's POV
"Dad and Deliah are gonna be here any minute now baby girl. The turkey should be done in about an hour and everything else should be done around that time too. Okay?"
"Yeah sounds good Eli!" I shouted back.
I was just finishing getting dressed for dinner while Eli stayed in the kitchen working on various dishes for Thanksgiving today.
I pulled on my long sleeved maroon skater dress and then slid on a pair of chunky black heeled booties. I topped the look off with a black sweeper cardigan. I left my hair down and wavy, the blond highlights standing out in the texture. I opted for simple makeup, and I just applied some mascara to frame my hazel eyes.
When I felt presentable enough I walked out to join Eli in the kitchen.
"Hi beautiful." Eli said pausing what he was working on to pull me into his strong arms. He brought his lips to mine capturing me in a sweet kiss before smiling again and going back to what he was working on. "You look incredible." I blushed. How does he always manage to make me blush?
"Thank you." I said shyly. "Did you see we were supposed to get snow today?" I asked as I started to chop up the potatoes so they'd boil faster for the mashed potatoes.
"Yeah. I'm excite. I love snow." He smiled.
"Me too." I giggled. I don't know why I did it but I did.
"How are you doing today love?" He asked turning to look at me. I know he does this to make sure I'm not lying. "Did you take your meds?"
"Yeah. I'm okay today. I'm excited to celebrate Thanksgiving. I can't remember ever celebrating it before." I said with a sad smile.
"Well, then be prepared for the best Thanksgiving ever." He chuckled.
"I am prepared." I winked and his cheeks reddened, I love that I make him blush just as much as he does me.
"Here!" I heard Deliah shout from the front door.
"In the kitchen!" I yelled back.
Charlie's POV (Surprise!)
"In the kitchen!" Athena shouted and I chuckled.
"Take of your coat, D. It's warm in here you don't need it." I stopped her from running to the kitchen.
"Right." She nodded before taking of her jacket and hanging it on the coat rack.
We made our way to the kitchen to see my son and his girlfriend cooking what smells like an incredible meal. "We brought pie!" I said placing the the pie on the counter.
"Yum!" The two said at the same time causing us all to laugh.
"Anything we can do to help?"
"Oh no dad that's okay, we are pretty much done with everything. We are just waiting for it all to cook." Eli answered and I nodded.
I sat in the bar stool placed in front of the bar counter area. Deliah sat beside me. "YOu look nice guys and everything smells so good." Deliah said. I nodded in agreement.
"Thanks, Eli did most of it." We all chuckled again.
"How have you guys been?" I asked.
"Good, this week has been really relaxing and I have gotten to do a lot of work in my studio. It's nice not having to deal with stupid kids at school." Athena gritted out.
"Are we talking about a stupid kid in particular?" I asked.
Athena eyed Deliah slyly "Hey D, wanna go turn on the parade in the living room?" I asked, she understood that this was an excuse for her to leave the conversation.
