Maybe, I shouldn't have "accidentally" thrown that book at Aunt Becky. Then again, she was annoying me. She's always getting on my nerves, bossing me around like she's the Queen of Sheba. God, she is such a bitch. Who does she think she is?

"She's your aunt, Jade. You can't just throw things at her?" I rolled my eyes, saying "To-may-to.
To-mah-to." I had my arms crossed and my head was facing the window.

"Can you please look at me?" Uncle Manny asked. "I can't." I said, clearing my throat. He looked at me funny and furrowed his eyebrows, saying "Yes, you can." He said softly and I shook my head, laughing.

"What's so funny?" He asked. "You, Oma, Opa, Aunt Becky, and everyone else because you're all hiding something from me and yet, you won't tell me." I said, looking at him. He looked down, sighing and shaking his head. He didn't say anything, he got up and stopped by my door. He looked back at me and said, "You need to apologize to your aunt."

"I'll apologize, when she and the rest of you tell me what's going on." I said, cocking my right eyebrow at him and he just rolled his eyes, walking out of my room. He said something under his breath but I heard him nice and clear, when he said, "Why do you have to be so difficult?"

"Because it's my job!" I yelled. "I live for that shit!" I got up from my bed and slammed my door shut. I went back to my bed and grabbed my phone, so I could call Rina. I called her, but she told me that she was having dinner with her parents and she'd call me later. I felt like she was lying, maybe she was mad at me for ditching her at the assembly.

Maybe, I'll text Porc, since we exchanged numbers later in the car when I first met him. I texted him to ask if he wanted to go to the beach with me. I didn't get a text back, I guess he was busy too. I sighed deeply and put my phone down. As I lay in my bed, I looked up at the ceiling for a few seconds before my bedroom door opened and it was Gracie. I lifted my head up and straightened my posture to face her, while my elbows were holding me up. "Hey, honey bee." I said, smiling, as I got up from my bed to hug her. I wrapped my arms around her, but she didn't hug me back. She was pouting her lips and frowning. "What's wrong, bubba?" I asked, holding her in my arms.

"Melanie Madison called me stupid because...I can't read." Aw, my poor baby. "It's not your fault that you can't read, baby. You're only four years old, I started reading when I was six, it took me some time, but I got there and now, look at me." A sad case junkie whose best friend betrayed me and may or may be an "accomplice" to my parents' death. "Don't listen to her, she doesn't know what she's talking about. Just because you can't read, doesn't mean you're stupid or dumb. You're smart. You're a smart girl, you're my honey bee. What are you?" I asked her.

"A rockstar?" She said, tilting her head. "Yes, you're my rockstar. Don't let anybody steal your shine. Ignore her, okay?" I said and she nodded, putting her head in my chest. I held her for a second and then she pulled away, looking at me, "Uncle Manny wants to know if you want to come with us to Olive Garden." I sighed, biting my lip. "Tell Uncle Manny that I'm doing my homework. Okay?" I smiled and she nodded.

"Okay." Gracie smiled, standing up and walking out of the door. "Have fun." I said, waving at her, as she was closing my door back because she knew that I didn't like my door open. I heard my phone vibrate and I got up off of the floor to see that I had gotten a text from Porc, it says "Sounds like a plan, I'll pick you up." Sound like a plan? What the fuck? Who, even, says that? Of course, only someone like Porc. I texted him back, saying, "cool." Nothing like a dry ass conversation. You wanted one, I could give it to you. God, I am so weird.

I saw the car that my family was taking to the restaurant, being pulled out of the driveway. I rolled my eyes, turning around. God, the nerve of them, for keeping a secret from me. I want to know what they're hiding from me. If they don't tell me sooner or later, I am going to find out, my damn self. Hell, I'll become my own Nancy Drew. And, I don't know why I have to apologize for hitting Aunt Becky in the face, it wasn't my fault that she was in the way. As Rihanna would say, "Move, motherfucker. You in the way." All I'm saying is, she got what she deserved and that's that.
