"Jadessa! Long time no see!" Colm yelled. "Colm! You Irish eejit, how are you?!" I asked, jumping out of one of the chairs in the waiting room. Demi, Nick, and Emma looked at me like I had ten heads while I hugged the guy who monitored my every move when I was in the hospital for the thousandth time.

"Hey, kid!" He said, returning the gesture as he picked me up. When we pulled away, he had a big smile on my face. "Has it been a year since we last saw each other, love?" Colm asked. I shrugged, "It would appear that way. Anyway, how are you? How's the family?" I asked.

"Well, Angie just had our third child, and his name is Rowan," Colm said, pulling out his phone for me to see pictures of his newborn infant.

While he was looking for the picture, he asked me something that made a lump form in my throat. "How're your parents? They doing all right?" He asked, scrolling through his phone. "Yeah...six feet under." I joked, and Colm's eyes were immediately on me. He expressed a look of concern, the familiar look that a lot of people had been giving me on the day of the funeral, and even to this day. I am just sad little Jade with dead parents and a sister who doesn't even love her.

"What? Jade, I'm sorry." Colm apologized as I was starting at the red and white tiled hospital floor. "It's okay, Colm. I'm fine." I said, looking back up at him, trying my best not to cry as I felt my eyes getting wet. "What about your sister? How's she?" Colm asked.

"It's a long story," I responded. "That's okay. We don't have to talk about it. Uh...anyway, are you here by yourself?" He questioned, and I shook my head, turning back to point at Demi, Nick, and Emma, who were talking to one another. Instantly, when Colm saw who I was pointing to, he dropped his mouth and looked back at me. "What the hell? Did you kidnap Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas, and are you holding them hostage?" Colm rhetorically interrogated.

I punched Colm's shoulder, chuckling. "Close your mouth; you'll catch a massive case of dicks," I warned. Colm glared at me, rolling his eyes. "Are they family, Jade? Seriously, how do you know them?" He asked. "Well, I guess they are. I've been staying with them for a while now ever since..." Before I could say anything else, I stopped myself from saying another word because I didn't want Colm to find out that I had gotten raped again by the same guy.

Yes, Colm knows that I got raped by Dennis before because I told him. I told him when I had relapsed and before I got checked into rehab. I didn't know why I trusted Colm so much to tell him what had happened to me. I guess the reason why I told him was that he was the only person who stuck by my side when I felt like I had no one. He was there, listening at my hospital bed. He didn't judge or state his opinion; he just listened. That's all I wanted. That's all we ever want is for someone to listen to us.

"Jade Weathers." A voice called, making me snap my head. "Yes, I'm Jade Weathers," I said, walking up to the doctor in her lab coat with spectacles the size of Harry Potter's. "Hi, I'm Dr. Taylor. Are you here with your family?" He asked. Before I could say anything, I heard Nick say, "Yes, we're her family. I'm her father, and I would like to know what's wrong with my daughter." Hold on. Wait a minute. Stall the fucking ball. If anyone would've seen the look on my face, they would notice that I was very disgusted. Was Emma considered family to me? Of course, because she was like a sister to me, but Nick and Demi being my parents. There's no fucking way. I mean, I wouldn't mind being Demi's daughter, if anything, that would like a luxury for me. But being Nick's daughter and him being my father, no fucking thank you.

Why does Mr. Only Cares About Himself suddenly interested in my life and my wellbeing? And what exactly is he getting at?

Not only was I looking at Nick as if he was mental, but so was Demi and Emma because they know just as much as I do that Nick can't stand me.

What the hell is he up to?

After being disgusted by Nick's choice of words, I turned my head back to Dr. Taylor. "You were saying," I said. "Right then, well, Jade, good news." He said, making my eyes light up. "You don't have any be in injuries, but it may take some time for your wound to heal. If you have any pain, I recommend taking Ibuprofen, aspirin, or any normal pain reliever will work because the condition that you are in is not grave. In fact, it's like a baby tooth. Very small." Dr. Taylor laughed, holding his clipboard behind his back.

"So, I'm okay?" I asked for confirmation, and Dr. Taylor nodded with a smile. "Yes, you're fine." He substantiated.
