"What the hell did you do that for?" Michaela asked as she was holding a piece of ice to her lip. "Because, you deserved it. Did you break up with him?" I asked and Michaela nodded her head. "When I asked him about the video, he said that you tried to come onto him, but I knew he was lying. He always scratches his neck whenever he's telling a lie." I chuckled. Yeah, She was right about that.
"Good. Because I missed you." I said, wrapping my arms around Michaela and she surprisingly was hugging me back.
"What's going on in here?" a voice asked. I looked from the kitchen and into the dim lighted living room to see Oma. I pulled away from Michaela and faced Oma. "Oma, this is Michaela. She's...a friend of mine." I smiled, looking at Michaela as she put one hand out for Oma to shake while the other was holding the ice against her red lip. Oma looked at Michaela's hand funny and then she started speaking in Dutch, so that Michaela wouldn't understand what we were saying.
"Jade, Wat heeft dat te betekenen? Ik dacht dat ze sliep met je vriendje! Why is she here in this house?" Oma screamed, waking up half of the house. Then Opa, Aunt Becky, Uncle Stan, and Uncle Manny, who was holding Gracie in his arms, came down the stairs. (Jade, what is meaning of this? I thought she slept with your boyfriend! Why is she here in this house?!)
"Oma, praat niet zo met haar. She already apologized, we're friends now." I explained to her and her facial expression totally changed. (Oma, don't talk to her like that.)
"Woah. Woah, why is everyone yelling?! It's 12:00 in the morning. What's going on?!" Uncle Manny yelled, putting Gracie down for her to only run straight into Opa's arms.
"Nothing is going on." I said.
"Hey, aren't you the girl that slept with Jade's boyfriend? What is she doing here, Jade?" Aunt Becky put her hands on her hips. "Mick, don't answer her." I looked at Michaela, who had a culpable look on her face. Even after all the shit Michaela put me through, I wasn't going to let everyone jump on her. That's my job to put the bitch in her place. No offense.
"Michaela only came here to apologize to me about everything and I forgave her...by punching her." I said and everyone gasped while I just rolled my eyes. "But, it's okay because she forgave me and I forgave her and now we're...sort of friends, at least we're on speaking terms." I clarified.
"I'm sorry if I caused any trouble." Michaela apologized. Everyone nodded and yawned in unison, which low key creeped me out.
"Alright, everyone let's get back to bed!" Opa yelled, walking back up the stairs with Gracie in his arms. "We have a big day tomorrow."
"Come on, Stan." Aunt Becky said, walking slowly back up the stairs. Uncle Stan followed behind Aunt Becky like a lost puppy.
"Make sure you—" before Uncle Manny finished his sentence, I cut him off because I knew exactly what he was going to say. "I know. I know. I should get to bed because I have school tomorrow." Uncle Manny furrowed his eyebrows and shook his head, "No, you're not going to school tomorrow."
"I'm not?" I asked. "Nope. Not after what happened today. Oma and Opa want you and Gracie to get settled in first and spend time with them before you go back to school on Friday. I'll call the school in the morning."
I nodded. "Okay." Thank God, no school for me.
"But, I do want you to get some rest, alright." Uncle Manny said, smiling at me. "Good night, Jade. Michaela." He waves at Michaela and walks back up the stairs in his plaid pajama set.
I turned around, facing Michaela with my arms crossed. "I am so sorry about that. She's very protective of me. They all are." I chuckled when I noticed this weird look on Michaela's face. She looked like she had been hit by a truck.
