"Can I just be flat out frank with you for one second?" I asked Emma and she nodded while lying on my bed. Okay, how do I say this nicely without coming off as a bitch. "Excuse my French, but what the fuck were you thinking coming to me with this type of problem? I mean, I know we're, like, friends and all but dude, if your mom finds out, she will be all up my ass. And I already have so many people up my ass, that I'm mentally constipated and it's hard to shit them out without them coming back. You think I want two families up my ass? Nah, chica that's like eating Chipotle and drinking coffee together, knowing they both will fuck you up." I said, pacing my room back and forth.

Emma seemed a little taken back by my response. "I didn't mean to drag you in this on purpose. It's just, I didn't know who else to tell. God, I am so scared." I sat down on the bed next to her and pulled her close to me. I wrapped my arms around her and ran my fingers through her hair, it was something that my mom always did to me, whenever I was sad. It soothed me, I hope it will do the same for Emma.

"I know you are, love." I whispered, rubbing her back. "It's okay to be scared in your condition. Have you figured out what you wanted to do...you know, with...it?" I asked, trying not to sound even more like a bitch.

She pulled away, seeming offended. "What do you mean, it? As if it doesn't have a name or something? As if, it doesn't matter?"

"Well, it's not exactly a baby yet, Emma. It's a fetus."I said, defending myself as she pulled her legs up against her chest. "I know what it is, Jade." She snapped. "Besides, I'm not really...sure, at the moment." She said timidly, relaxing and putting her legs back down on the bed to stretch out.

I moved closer to her and held her hands. "Whatever...you do. I want you to know that...I will not tell anyone. This is a secret between you and me."

"You promise?" She asked with tears forming in her eyes. I nodded, wiping her pre-tears that were about to fall down. "Of course. I'll be there with you, supporting you because I'm your friend. Hell, you're kind of like a sister to me." I laughed and she smiled with me. "Would you take a look at that beautiful smile?" I beamed at her and she rested her head in my chest, saying, "Thank you, Jade."

"No problem." Then she pulled away and looked at me with a stern look on her face. "What?" She shook her head. "No, tell me. What is it?" I asked.

She laid her head back on me and said, "I have to go back home before my mom calls the police."

"No, fuck that. You're not going home, Little E. You're staying right here with me and no one is gonna call the police. I'll just text your mom that you're staying at my house." I reached for my phone on the night stand and I picked it up. I unlocked the screen, went straight to Messages and texted Demi all of the deets.

I put my phone back down. "I hope she's okay with me staying over here, even though, we've only known each for a little while." Emma said.

I hope so, too, kid.

"She will." I said, trying to reassure Emma that everything will be all right. I felt my phone vibrate against my thigh and I picked it up to see that Demi had replied back. I opened the message and Emma started to get tense, her eyes were glued to my phone. "She said...that she's glad that you're okay and she'll pick you up tomorrow morning." Wow, she's really a chill mom. My mom would freak the freak out, if she found out that I went to someone's else house without permission. She would probably make me stand on a pack of beans for a minute, which was torture to me when I was younger and I took it upon myself to cross the street without holding her hand and not looking both ways. God, I felt like I was stepping on a bunch of legos.

My mom loved me to death but she was also strict because if anything happened to me, she'd never forgive herself.

"See, nothing to worry about." I said, smiling and turning off my phone. "Now, go to sleep, Little E."
