Jimin and Jin are best friends in Hallyu High School. They are the two most popular guys in the school and nothing can separate them. But, one day a Japanese transfer students enter their lives. Their friendship will be tested. Will this transfer student get in between them?

{This is a Jimina book so the ending is obvious but let's pretend we don't know what's going to happen for the sake of the plot.}

Jimin POV

Just another day of high school... I'm sitting in my desk with my head down while I feel several gazes on me. I know some may want my life but sometimes it just gets annoying. Everything I do is either praised or bashed. There are always eyes on me and my mistakes and accomplishments are always broadcasted to the world. Sometimes I just feel like disappearing. I suddenly hear girls cheering and I pick up my head to see my best friend. We really are opposites.

Jin joins the girls in cheering with a huge smile on his face and he approaches my desk. Jin says, "Why so depressed Jimin? You should get a girlfriend or boyfriend. It should be easy for you. Probably easier for me because I'm more handsome, charming, and funny." Jin laughs and I put my head back down. His confidence is too high. But  getting a girlfriend might be a good idea. Even though Jin and I are on the top, I'm still lonely here. But the question is, where can I find the right girl? Suddenly the room becomes quiet and I hear whispers behind me. I pick up my head curiously and I see our teacher, JYP, with a new student. JYP says, "Everyone welcome your new classmate from Japan, introduce yourself Mina." She faces the class and shyly says, "Hello everyone, my name is Myoui Mina. Please take care of me."

I glance at Jin who is surprisingly quiet. JYP says, "You can sit next to Jimin." Mina bows to JYP and slowly makes her way towards the desk next to me. Everyone is still looking at her and I can tell she's getting embarrassed. She probably hates getting too much attention. As she is walking down I notice that she has a unique walk, she waddles like a penguin. Cute. Mina sits down and suddenly looks at me then turns away shyly after we make eye contact. Class starts but I can't stop myself from taking small glances at her. I'll be lying if I say don't find her attractive. Her mole on the bridge of her nose makes her both cute and sexy. Her eyes are enchanting and I've heard her small giggles from time to time and they melted my heart. The lunch bell rings and Jin approaches my table. He says, "What do you think about the new girl?" I shrug and say, "Nothing much, I completely forgot she was here." Yes, I lied to Jin but it'll be embarrassing if I tell him I like her. He'll just tease me for falling in love so easily and probably never let it go. Jin then says, "How can you ignore her? I think I'm in love." What?

On our way to the cafeteria, we see Mina in the hallway and Jin approaches her. Jin then says, "Umm, my name is Jin nice to meet you!" She then looks at him surprised and says, "Oh, I'm Mina. Nice to meet you too!" They both giggle to cope with the awkward atmosphere. Jin quickly says, "Want to go eat lunch with me?" She just smiles and says, "Sorry, I can't I have to meet with the principal for lunch." Jin then chuckles and says, "OH no it's ok. You don't have to apologize. I'll just eat with Jimin!" He runs away and I slowly follow him.

I grab his shoulder and start laughing at him. I say, "What happened to your confidence?" He pushes me away and says, "YAH! I've never been rejected like that." I chuckle and he says, "HEY! Stop laughing, it's not like you can do any better." I smirk and say, "Is that a challenge?" Suddenly, JB joins the table and says, "What are you two fighting about?" JB is like the third guy, he isn't as close as Jin but he's a good friend of ours. Jin says, "Jimin is teasing me but in reality he's worse." JB says, "Worse?" Jin says, "I'm saying, I'm better at talking to girls." I say out loud, "Well JB is pretty experienced at speaking to girls, so who do you think is better?" JB thinks for a little bit and says, "I've never seen either of you speak to girls so I'm gonna stay out of this. Settle it yourselves." That was useless.

Time Skip (End of Day)

Jin is being petty and not dropping me to school so I'm taking the bus. But that isn't entirely bad. In the bus stop, I see Mina waiting so I sit next to her. She's wearing earphones so she doesn't notice. I can see her tapping her feet to the beat of the music she's listening to. Mina turns to my direction and we make eye contact. She takes off her earphones and says, "Oh, you're the guy I sit next to! Hi, my name is Mina." She extends her hands and I shake them. I say, "I'm Jimin! Nice to meet you!" She smiles brightly and says, "Nice to meet you!" Wow... The bus arrives but she stops me and says, "Do you have time? You want to go eat somewhere?" Did she just ask me out? I look at my watch and then back at her. I answer, "Sure we can go somewhere." Mina smiles and starts pulling my arm.

I follow her to this Pork Belly restaurant. We sit down on a table and she orders the food. Mina suddenly pauses and says, "Oh wait sorry, I usually eat here alone. Did you want anything?" I shake my head and say, "No I'll just get what you got." She laughs and says, "Alright!" I can't stop staring at her. Stop it Jimin, Jin clearly said that he likes her. The food comes in and she stares it with excitement. We start to eat and talk in between. We talked about random things so I just blurted out whatever came to mind. I look at my watch and see how late it is. I say, "Mina we should go home, we still have school tomorrow."

The next day

"Just another day of high school" is what I was thinking but it was more than an ordinary day. As I put my head down on the table, I felt a tap on my shoulder. I pick up my head and see Mina. What a good start for my day. She says, "You dropped this last night." She hands me a handkerchief and goes back to her desk. Suddenly, I feel a body on my back. Jin then says, "You're friends with Mina? Help me out and say good things about me!" I push him off and say, "Get off me, just talk to her." He then says, "But she might reject me again." I laugh and say, "Is the great Jin, scared?" He nods his head and says, "She really is unique." I look at her and say, "Yeah she is."

The lunch bell rings again and I hear Jin yelling my name in the hallway. He says, "JIMIN! She agreed to eat lunch with us." I look at him confused and say, "She? Us?" He nods his head like an eager puppy and says, "Yeah, I asked Mina again but I kinda brought you into it because she knows you already. Just remember, say good things about me." I chuckle awkwardly and we sit down in the lunch table. The whole time Jin leads the conversations with his interesting stories and terrible jokes. He soon nudges my shoulder indicating me to leave and I pretend to use the bathroom.

Author POV

Jimin leaves to the bathroom and Jin takes this opportunity to talk to Mina. Everyone knows him, he's handsome and usually has the confidence to ask any girl out. So he lives by his reputation and asks Mina out. Jin says, "Mina, your laugh is beautiful. Your smile is beautiful. Your voice is beautiful. And, I can't help myself but I fell in love with you. My heart feels empty when I don't see you around and I feel like I'm the happiest man alive when I talk to you. This is me asking you out." Jin stares at her with anticipation but Mina felt differently. Mina said, "I'm flattered that someone as handsome and awesome as you likes me but I don't think I can return the same feelings. I don't want to but I have to reject you now or else I'll hurt you even more by giving you false hope. But I kind of like someone else..." Jin starts to tear up and says, "No, it's my fault. Haha, I'm sorry Mina for making this awkward." He starts to choke up and Mina says, "No it's not your fault. I'm sorry." She tries to sit next to him but he rushes out quickly so Mina doesn't see his tears. Mina stays at the table and Jimin arrives.

Jimin POV

I see Jin running away and this has me worried. Did she reject him again? I join Mina at the table and ask, "What happened?" She smiles weakly at me and says, "You should talk to him, I'm gonna go." She leaves me alone at the table. I run to the rooftop to see Jin sitting on the edge. I join him and say, "Did she reject you?" He nods and says, "She says she likes someone else." Why am I not completely sad about this? Stop Jimin, this means you can't date her even more. Think about Jin, you'll crush him. Maybe I should avoid Mina too.
