"So we bought the collar," Tony explained as he plopped back down in his chair. "Decided it wasn't strong enough to put down a demi-God," He continued. "Upgraded the ever-living hell out of that sh*t with Bruce," Tony motioned to Bruce who awkwardly waved as to contribute to Tony's explanation about the shock collar. "Decided that the voltage percent could be higher than a normal shock collar," Tony evilly smiled. "2,450 Volt is the amount of voltage used to execute criminals," Tony explained to the Avengers as they carefully listened. "When I asked Thor how many volts Loki could stand, I decided to make the maximum charge so high that it would instantaneously put Loki down," Tony sounded like an evil scientist gone wrong.
"Then I realized that would be unethical," He shrugged. "So I made a remote which you can set from a number from 1 to 10," He explained as he showed the remote to the collar. "1 is the highest setting of a normal dog collar, which is approximately 100 volt. To put that in perspective, 5 is the 2,450 volt," Tony explained as he twisted the nib to 5. "9 Is the highest you're allowed to shock him because 10 will kill him," He warned. "So don't even try 10. It's there for emergencies only," He told them. "Can't stress that enough," He added.
"How many remotes do you have?" Clint asked as he grabbed the remote off Tony. "Four," Tony said. "One for Burce and me, one for Nick and one for Thor," Everyone seemed to find that reasonable. "But we're not going to tell Loki that there are only four remotes," Tony told the group. "Because if he knows, he'll just end up trying to destroy the remotes,"
"That's all fine and dandy, but who's going to put that collar on Loki?" Natasha asked. Tony inhaled to answer but ended up choking the air. He left his mouth agape, trying to think of an answer. "Good question," He noted before turning to Thor. "He's got those mirages, doesn't he?" Tony asked Thor. Thor chuckled. "The god of mischief is mischievous indeed. It won't be easy to get in there without him escaping let alone put the collar around his neck," Thor told them.
Y/N almost immediately looked at Bruce. Two ideas popped into her head. "It doesn't have to be one of us,"
Everyone looked at her now. "What do you-...," Natasha gasped. "Oh," She realized what Y/N meant. "That could go horribly wrong," Natasha warned Y/N. "Yeah, but it could also be a hundred times easier," Y/N told her. "What are you guys talking about?" Steve asked, properly confused. "We let the Hulk to it!" Y/N suggested. "Sh*t. That could actually work," Tony agreed. "Loki is terrified of the Hulk!" Thor added. "Wait, what?" Bruce asked a bit reluctantly.
"I'm against it!" Natasha immediately said. "It's our only chance at a clean-cut transaction," Tony told Natasha. "We'll block the exits. Everything will be fine. He'll grab Loki out of his cell, put on the collar and let him go. We'll close the prison again and explain the situation," Tony explained. "Still against it," Natasha folded her arms.
"Cool, who isn't?" Tony asked and looked around the room. Everyone except Natasha and Bruce lifted their hand. "Bruce, you gotta let him do it, man," Tony told Bruce. With a groan and a roll of his eyes, Bruce eventually gave in. "Let's go," Everyone stood up and followed Bruce. Natasha stood up too, but Y/N stayed seated. "It's probably for the best if I don't get involved," She said. Natasha sighed and agreed with Y/N before jogging toward her teammates.
When they left, Y/N stood up and headed rushed toward Tony and Bruce's lab.
Now that no one was going to bother her for a while, she could enter the virus into their computers. From there on, the virus would slowly infiltrate every system SHIELD had. From the computers to the coffee machines. Everything. When she had all the systems in the palm of her hand, she could start working on her actual job.
As Y/N accessed the lab computers, the Avengers had reached Loki's cell. "Be careful, Bruce," Tony warned as the rest quickly moved toward all the exits. Loki seemed to be at least slightly surprised but more so worried. Whatever they were plotting, it wasn't going to end well for Loki. Tony took a few steps back to the control panel and cautiously watched Bruce and Loki.
Loki decided to take some safety measures and stand as far away from the entrance of the prison. Wide-eyed, he watched as the tranquil Bruce slowly grew into what his monster under the bed was.
Tony got the signal from Steve and quickly pushed the button that opened the prison cell. Everyone was on edge, especially Loki. "Stay away from me, you ignominious cretin!" Loki shrieked, pressing his whole body against the glass behind him as Hulk reached inside the prison. Both Loki and the Hulk were yelling and screeching loudly making everyone flinch slightly.
Even Y/N, who was all the way back in the lab, looked up thinking that she dropped a box of wrenches.
Eventually, the Hulk squeezed through the entrance and growled at Loki. Loki instinctively reached for his daggers but felt nothing but air. He suddenly realized Thor had confiscated all his weapons and made sure Loki didn't bring anything to Earth. "Oh sh*t," Were Loki's last words before the Hulk grabbed him by the throat. Intense eye contact was made, tears were shed, shade was thrown, wigs were snatched, tea was spilled and after a while, the shock collar was around Loki's neck.
Hulk dropped Loki's motionless body back on the prison ground and walked out with style before Bruce returned to his normal state. He fell down on his knees and took deep breaths in and out. Tony slammed the button, shutting the door and rushed to his aid. Thor was the first one to walk up to the glass and check on his brother.
"Maybe a little too rough there, Bruce," Thor mumbled as he saw Loki struggling to breathe. "Wasn't me," Bruce coughed before turning on his back. "My head hurts. I haven't done that in a while," He complained. "You did good, bro," Tony reassured before rushing over to Thor and check up on Loki.
"We'll explain to Loki what happened and how things are going to be from now on. You guys are free to leave," Tony informed as he turned away from Loki to face everyone else. Everyone except Thor decided to leave. As they did, Loki slowly pushed himself on his knees and looked around. He groaned and moaned for a while. "What was that for?" He asked, his raven-colored hair blocking his expression from the two. "We had to get that collar on you so we could trust you a bit," Thor explained.
Loki looked down and then into the reflection cast by the glass. "But why is it black with a green gem?" Loki asked and turned to Thor. "It looked so bland," Tony explained and looked at Thor. "We spray painted it black and got an emerald laid into it," Thor shrugged. Loki narrowed his eyes in total annoyance and looked back at his reflection. "Great idea, brother. Now I'm a complete animal," He complained. Thor hesitated. "This wasn't my idea," He told Loki. "Tony's?" Loki asked and pointed at Tony.
"Y/N's. The new girl,"
