Bruce was all packed up and ready to leave headquarters. He still had his bag full of notes in the lab. So he woke up around dawn to quickly pick up his stuff. He used his card to open the lab door and was immediately met with a quiet: "Hello bruce."

Bruce frowned and looked inside the lab. Against the wall, close by the door, sat Loki. Bruce looked even closer and saw that Y/N was sound asleep. She was huddled up on Loki's chest and he was holding her for support. "What did you do to her?" Bruce asked in a panic. "I did squat. She is the only reason why she's sleeping on me," Loki answered truthfully with a hint of annoyance. "That is very hard to believe. Can you elaborate?" Bruce asked. Loki sighed and rolled his eyes.

~~A few hours earlier~~

A few hours after Thor had last talked to him, Loki went back downstairs. On his way to his room, he passed by the lab. When he saw that the door was wide open, he frowned. He took a peek inside. All the lights were out and it was quiet. As he was about to close the door, he saw a dark figure at the desk. He cracked the door open again to inspect. With a simple flick of the light switch, he could see that it was Y/N. The dim lights lead him toward the knocked-out girl.

He was hesitant to wake her up. Reluctant even. After a while of mental debating, he decided that if she remained in such bad posture, she'd end up having back pain in the morning. He tried to do the noble thing and carry the helpless dame to her chamber. But he forgot one crucial detail.

The gravity on Asgard was a bit weaker than on Earth. He also didn't have the muscle to carry the woman all the way to her bedroom. It gets worse. He only realized that fact when he picked her up. He stumbled backward and took Y/N with him. Loki fell and Y/N splatted to the ground like a corpse. For a second, Loki thought he had actually killed her, but when he checked her pulse, he found that he was wrong.

He huffed, stubborn as ever, and grabbed Y/N's arms. He pulled her to the door but found that he'd never make it to her room at the pace he was moving at. He'd eventually be seen by someone and explain why he was dragging Y/N's limp body.

Imagine that. What would his excuse be?

With a sigh, he looked at Y/N who was still sound asleep. He figured he could just leave her on the ground. Sure, her back would still hurt but at least she was laying flat on the ground. He shrugged with a scoff and left, closing the door behind him.

He went to his room, laid down on his bed and stared at the ceiling. As minutes passed, he found that he was growing more and more restless. He was becoming angry at himself. Furious when he decided to return to the lab. He tried to open the door but found that it was locked. "Why'd I close the door?" He silently asked himself with a frown. He sighed harshly as he returned to the chambers. He stopped infront of Bruce's door and turned into a spider.

He slowly snuck under the door and looked around. He had noted previously that Bruce kept his badge under his bed. So he pattered under the bed and found the badge. He turned into a snake and slid across the floor with the badge tangled around his tail. When he reached the door, he heard Bruce moan in his sleep. He turned his head to look at him. Bruce grumbled and turned on his other side. Loki quickly slid back outside and turned back into himself. The badge was in his hand and he couldn't help but smirk at it. "I'm a f*cking genius," He silently sang as he proudly walked back to the lab.

He scanned the badge, headed back to the chambers, slid the badge under the door and ran back to the lab. He opened the door and saw that Y/N hadn't even moved. For a moment, he had to rethink his entire existence. How did he end up in this situation? Eventually, he looked back down and noticed the problem again.

He felt guilty about leaving her on the ground but he couldn't possibly carry her. Maybe magic could work, but it'd be too risky. He finally accepted defeat and sat down, leaning against the wall. He reached for Y/N and pulled her close to him. He laid her head down on his chest and put his arm around her waist to keep her from sliding off.

How could someone be that tired?

Loki spent a good while just looking at the ceiling. That was until he felt Y/N move a bit. She nuzzled her head into his chest and wrapped both of her arms around his torso. "You are soooo dead when you wake up," Loki threatened with narrowed eyes as he tensed up. He shifted uncomfortably. Suddenly he paid attention to her heartbeat. It was so slow yet so strong. 'How unusual,' He thought as he looked down at her. Y/N's face was covered by her hair. Loki softly brushed the hair out her face and tucked it behind her ear.

He leaned his head back against the wall and embellished himself in the silence which was regularly broken by Y/N's soft exhaling. He didn't mind it. The warmth of Y/N's body soothed him into a state of relaxation.

~~Present Time~~

"So you're saying you took pity on her?" Bruce asked. He was sitting on the ground next to Loki. "I'm saying that she is the most useless thing when she's sleeping," Loki rolled his eyes at Bruce. "I don't take pity one people," Loki added. "Right," Bruce said totally unconvinced as he stood up again. "Wake her up in an hour or so. She needs to get ready," Bruce reminded him as he grabbed his bag. "I will," Loki reassured.

As Bruce was about to leave, Tony waddled in the room. "Hey, Bruce. Here to pick up your nerd-bag?" Tony asked. He seemed to have cooled down quite a bit. "Hello, Antony," Loki greeted which made Tony look down. "Oh sh*t, it's here too," Tony cringed. "And it's holding Y/N?" He asked. "What a sight,"

"Can you stop referring to me as 'it'?" Loki asked as Tony stared at him and Y/N. "No, I don't think so," Tony shook his head. "By the way, Bruce, buddy," Tony said, turning his attention to his colleague. "We've gotta talk about your... Writings," Tony said, referring to what Y/N had told him a while ago. "My work?" Bruce asked clearly confused. "Your creative outlet, pal," Tony sweetly said as he tossed his arm around Bruce's neck. "It's okay, we all go through that phase. You're just a late bloomer and that's okay," Tony reassured as he walked out with Bruce. "What are you talking about?" Bruce asked a bit angry.

Loki stared as the two men walked off. He closed his eyes and went back to relaxing. But it only lasted a moment as he felt Y/N move. He opened his eyes again and watched as Y/N slowly lifted her head off his chest, taking the warmth with her.

She looked around for a while before finally realizing where she was. She was surprised, but that was nothing compared to when she moved her hands, feeling the warmth of another person. Scared to look who it was, she slowly caressed and rubbed the surface her hand was on. Loki remained dead silent and motionless. He even stopped breathing.

Eventually, Y/N mustered up the courage and turned her head around, looking right into Loki's green eyes.
