Y/N typed in the last codes into the computer before shutting it off and leaving it on the screensaver. To her surprise, the screensaver was a group photo of the Avengers. Tony took a selfie in a, what seemed to be, Shawarma. Everyone looked pretty unhappy, except Tony who made the peace sign with his fingers. Y/N let her eyes linger as she took in how close they were. Cursing her empathy, she got up from the chair and walked out.
Just as she did, she bumped into Tony. "Oh, hey. What were you doing in there?" Tony asked as he backed away so she could get outside. Y/N couldn't think of anything to say, so she said: "I was reading Bruce's fanfiction,"
Tony looked at her for a second and then said: "Ah yes. He does sit here alone most of the time. Wouldn't surprise me if he did," He shrugged off before going inside the lab. "Oh yeah, by the way," He said, turning back to Y/N. "Loki is like...Super duper angry at you because it was your idea to get him a collar. So I'd watch out for him. We set him loose," And with that, he closed the door. "It wasn't my idea-" But it was no use. Y/N rubbed her temples. "Awesome," She sarcastically groaned as she walked back toward the main hall.

"We're still here for a week. After that, we get on the aircraft and go to our destination," Maria informed Y/N. "We have designated rooms for everyone so they can get rest. That includes you," She explained as she tossed Y/N a pillow. "Yours is the last one in the corridor. I don't know if it matters, but Loki's room is right across from yours. All the others were already occupied," She said in a slightly apologetic tone. Y/N took a deep breath in and faked a smile. "Nah, it's fine. Thank you for helping me get through the day," She thanked Maria. "If you need any help at all, just ask," She said before giving her a pat on the shoulder and leaving.
Y/N walked through the corridor and finally reached the end. She decided to drop her bag there so she didn't have to carry it everywhere. With a small movement of her hand, she opened the door. The room wasn't bigger than a closet, but she assumed they made the rooms small because they expected the occupants to not be in it for more than 6 hours per day. She tossed her pillow on the bed and dropped her bag on the ground beside it.
After that, she closed the door and turned around only to directly look into the green eyes of Loki. She gasped and took a step back, bumping into the door. Arms behind his back, a sly grin on his face, he didn't look intimidating but rather... Mannered? "I think we haven't had a formal conversation," He said. Literal chills went down her spine, yet she was less intimidated when she saw the ridiculous collar around his neck. "If I would be staring at you for that long, one would rather find that creepy," He commented as she looked back at Loki's eyes.
"One would rather find it creepy that you've probably been waiting for me to come outside my room," She softly said. Loki's grin grew a bit wider, but his eyes remained calm. "Your statement and your tone clash. You seem quite unsure. At least, more unsure than the moment you decided to suggest the thing around my neck," Loki almost spat, but stayed calm with a soothing smile. "I was joking and Thor misinterpreted," She defended herself. "But it was your idea," Loki remarked. "Sure but-" "That's all I had to know," Loki interrupted her. Y/N pressed his lips together and frowned. "Are you here to take out your revenge?" She asked.
"Bold of you to assume that I'm so unsophisticated that I'd take revenge for something Thor did," He said and cocked his eyebrow. Y/N frowned deeper. "You literally attacked the Earth 5 seconds ago-"
"Wow," Loki laughed. "Bold of you to assume people can't change. That's just narrowminded," Loki gasped. Y/N looked irritated. "You tried to kill your brother on multiple occasions-"
"WOW." Loki gasped as Y/N rolled her eyes. "Bold of you to assume that siblings don't at least once try to murder their other sibling," He said as he folded his arms. Y/N waved him off.
"We cool?" She asked to stop his rant. "Well, no. I'm cool. You're a hot mess," Loki said as he looked her up and down. "No, actually. You're not a hot mess. You're just a mess," And with that metaphorical middle finger raised, he turned on his heel and walked away.
Y/N felt like she should be offended, but then she reminded herself that she was indeed a mess.
