" How do I look? " I asked Qe'Ana who sat peacefully reading a manga that I couldn't quite figure out.  It looked like 'Fruit basket' but I couldnt be too sure. She frowned.

" Your not honestly seeing him like that? Are you? " I looked at my outfit. A purple sweater with ripped skinny jeans and Sperry's.

" Yeah, what's wrong with it." I looked down at my outfit quite pleased.  She shook her head and grabbed my hand pulling me along the apartment to her room.

" Of course you would dress in rags Britt. That sweater is absolutely atrocious. "

" Hey! My mom made this sweater."

She looked back.

" I'm sorry.. Its lovely." I gave her a shrug letting her lead me to her closet.

" I have two dresses-"

" Wait!! Who said I was going to wear a dress??" I gave her a look of disgust. Me? In a dress?  Sure that's happening.

" I did, plus I got this for you but I couldn't figure out how to give it to you yet.. This is the perfect time."

She pulled out a silk white flowy strapless dress with ripples at the sides and a fine lace tracing the breasts.

" Jesus its beautiful! why'd you get this for me?? "

She smiled.

" I knew you'd love it, and because you're my best friend and I couldn't have you looking like trash when you went out with me." I smiled and have her a hug squeezing her in my embrace.

" Your amazing! did you know that? " She nodded.

" Of course." She nudged me and we fell in a pit of laughter.

2 HOURS LATER

As I made my way to the coffee shop I nervously sat at one of the stools. My glass sparkly heels sliding under the table. My hair was lef flat ironed and curled just above my shoulders. A silver diamoned forehead brace wrapped around it as if implementing a hippie look, my ankle and arm bracelets shimmered in the light. I honestly didn't know who  I was..

" There you are." I smiled and turned around expecting Oliver but yet again finding my father.

" Dad..What are you doing here? "

He placed his hands on my shoulders.

" I heard that you were planning on meeting a friend and I wanted to talk to you.."

He sat in the stool before me and put his hands together.

" What is it? "

He breathed.

" I can't have you distracted around friends or boys.. So.. I forbid you to hang out with them." I looked around. Forbid? since when does he tell me what to do?

" Umm.. excuse me? I didn't hear that clearly."

He sighed.

" Brittany, don't make this more difficult than it has to be. Just listen and do as I say. That's final. "

He flicked his finger at a nearby waitress ordering her to come over. While he ordered a small dark coffee with two sugars and a bagel I processed this information.

" You can't tell me what to do."

He scowled.

" Distractions are not what you need right now.. You must focus on the big things or it screws with everything."

I couldn't bare the thought of not talking to Oliver. Or seeing him for the matter. He couldn't take that much away from me!!

" No! I won't! I won't stop talking to Oliver whether you like it or not!! "

The waitress set the coffee down and asked if he needed anything else but he just ordered her away and looked back at me with a twisted grin. Grabbing my forearm he squeezed on it making me yelp in pain as the bracelet pressed against my bone.

" Stop!! Your crazy!! " He held on tighter pushing his thumb harder against my bracelet.

I grabbed the coffee with my free hand and threw it on him. He pulled away screaming in pain as I took off down the road constantly looking back to see if he was following me. As I turned back one more time I bumped into something hard. I screamed and looked forward afraid it was my dad who had somehow reached me like in those creepy scary movies.

I looked up realizing it was a person and it wasn't my dad. My eyelids blinked in surprise. The person held my arms before him as if to get a better look at me.

" Brittany?.."

" Oliver? "
