Serenity awoke to an empty bed. She sat up and looked around. The TV in the living room was on, so Kyle was up. She went into the bathroom and noticed her toothbrush had been moved to the toothbrush holder. The toothpaste was in the same place. He passed that test, but it wasn't like it mattered anyway. She brushed her teeth and then went into the room and prepared another outfit. Since they were going to the beach, she figured a dress would be appropriate. Good thing she packed like five different outfits. Variety is the spice of life!

She got into the shower and took a little longer than she needed to. This was the death of something that could've been amazing. It felt like she was preparing for a funeral. She dried off and got dressed. She pulled lotion out of her suitcase and rubbed it on her arms and legs. She grabbed a pair of sandals from her bag and strapped them on her feet. She combed out her hair and took one final look in the mirror. "Soak it up. This is the last time you'll be here". Before she stepped in the living room, she took a deep breath and put a smile on her face.

"Hey. Good morning," she said to Kyle. His legs were wrapped in these large black sheet-like contraptions. "Good morning. You slept for quite a while. I'm almost done with this," he says pointing at the leg wraps. "There's eggs and toast on the stove for you. Might be a little cold". Serenity walked into the kitchen and looked at the plate that was wrapped up for her. "You make it yourself?" she joked. "It's just eggs and toast. I can manage that". Serenity unwrapped the food and grabbed a fork out of the dishwasher. She sat down in the chair next to the couch.

"How did I do?" he asked. "Not bad. Eggs could use a tad bit more seasoning though," she teased. The trainer came back into Kyle's condo and turned the leg therapy wraps off. He unwrapped Kyle's legs and there was a cold steam coming off them. He packed up his equipment and left the apartment. "Can you grab me the lotion out my room?" he asked Serenity. "Yeah, sure". She sat the plate on the coffee table and walked back into the bedroom. She grabbed the lotion off the nightstand and handed it to him when she walked back into the living room. "Thank you so much". He pumped the lotion into his hands and slathered it onto both of his legs.

Serenity finished up her food and took the plate that was sitting in front of Kyle into the kitchen. She sat the plates in the sink. It wasn't her job to do the dishes. She walked back in his general direction when he said, "Come sit next to me". He patted the empty space on the couch next to him. Serenity sat down and cuddled into him after she kissed his cheek. Kyle raised his eyebrows at this act. This was the most affectionate she had been the whole time she was in Los Angeles. "I've never seen the ocean before," Serenity said as she ran her hand along his thigh, which was slowly warming up. "You'll love it. It's breathtaking".

The two of them walked along the boardwalk until they found a spot that would be perfect for them. The beach was fairly crowded as this was a tourist destination for whoever came to Los Angeles. As Kyle laid the towel in the sand, Serenity got the sunscreen out of the beach bag he had packed for them. She smeared some on her arms and legs and then handed the bottle to Kyle. "What did you say the name of this beach was again?" she asked as he put on the sunscreen. "Venice Beach". Serenity smiled. "It's like that Lana Del Rey song. Venice Bitch," Serenity chimed. "I've never heard that song. How does it go?". Serenity pulled out her phone so she could play the song. "I want to hear you sing it," he said. Serenity tittered at what he suggested. "I can't sing. It's just better if I play it". She played with the phone until Kyle snatched it from her. "Sing it".

Serenity hesitated and then cleared her throat. "Oh god miss you on my lips. It's me your little Venice bitch. On the stoop with the neighborhood kids. Calling out bang bang kiss kiss". Serenity laughed out of embarrassment. "Ok. I'm done". Kyle clapped, "That was good". As she pulled out the lunch they picked up on the way to the beach, he couldn't help but see how beautiful she looked. Her dark brown skin glistening in the California sun. Her long black tresses framing her face. The light makeup she had applied before they left was a stark difference from the heavy makeup she wore the night they met. The dress that perfectly complimented her natural figure. She was perfect to him.
