"Please be careful with that! It's very fragile!" Serenity yells to one of the movers. "Maybe we should go on the patio so you aren't telling them how to do their job," Kyle says as he motions for the back door. "I just think it would be better if I stayed in here and kept an eye on them," she said firmly. Kyle walked over to the chair she was sitting in and grabbed her. He pulled her out onto the patio. Two lawn chairs were the only thing out there as the patio furniture had yet to be delivered. She huffed as she sat down and crossed her arms across her chest. "Quit being dramatic. You're better out here than in there," he said as he sat in the lawn chair next to her.
Kyle and Serenity had purchased a 4 bedroom/3 bathroom home in Los Angeles for the two of them. The kitchen had black granite counter tops and white shaker cabinets with black accents. The main bedroom was quite large. The en suite had a double vanity and large shower with a bench built in and a rain shower head. They didn't have a traditional backyard, or a backyard at all. Since the house was built on a hill, they only had patios placed along the outside of the home. It was one of the first places the realtor showed them and they fell in love with it immediately.
Serenity cocked her head to look at the movers. Kyle grabbed her gently by her cheeks and diverted her attention elsewhere. "They're professionals. Don't worry about it". She scrunched her face as she smiled at him. Serenity looked at the cars on the street as they passed by. "I told Neri she could come out here to stay since we found a place. I think while you're going to be gone, the whole family is coming". Kyle took a sip of water and nodded. "It's a bummer they'll be coming while I'm out of the country. Was that intentional?" he joked. "Oh stop," Serenity giggled. "They adore you".
"But I can't wait to join you in Paris. I've never been so it'll be amazing to experience that with you," Serenity gleamed. "I'm there on business so we can't have too much fun," he laughs. "But our favorite kind of fun will be had," Serenity says as she gets out her chair and straddles Kyle. She cradles his face in the palms of her hands and kisses him on the lips. "You have been very frisky lately," he says with a smile. "I don't know. It's just something about you that gets me all riled up!" she laughs. "Well you're tiring me out," he says before kissing her again. "I'm sure that's something you never thought you would say".
She kisses his cheek before she stands up. "I'm going to get an orange. Do you want one?" she asked. "No I'm good," he says. She opens the patio door and walks into the kitchen, her eyes closely watching the movers. They were now furnishing the living room, which contained a lot of pieces that needed to be handled delicately. She peeled the orange and watched the peel fall onto the counter. She grabbed a paper towel and wrapped the orange and then threw the peel into the trash. She stepped back onto the patio and sat next to Kyle. She split the orange in half and then fed Kyle a piece.
That was one of the many things he slowly began to understand about Serenity while living with her. The little ways in which she showed affection. He had remembered the fight he picked with her about not coming to games but then it did occur to him. All the little things she would do for him to make game day easier on him even though she worked full time. She prepared a meal for him to eat while he was at the facility, bought new cologne when his bottles were running low, she made a playlist for him of all her songs he liked, and watched shows that she didn't like only because Kyle loved them. Sometimes, she would leave love notes on the fridge when she left before he awoke. She may not be a constant physical presence at his games, but she cared and offered her support in ways that he appreciated.
"If you keep feeding me your pieces, you won't have any left," he said as he chewed. Serenity looked down and noticed there were only three more orange pieces left. "I'll just peel myself another one. You finish this one off," she smiled. "Only if you finish feeding it to me". She rolled her eyes and giggled as she tore off another piece and placed it into his mouth. She put one piece in her mouth and the last into Kyle's. A mover knocked on the patio door and the couple turned their attention to him.
"You guys are all set". He walks back into the living room and a short time later they see him exit onto the street. Kyle stands up and so does Serenity. Without giving it a second thought, he swooped Serenity up and held her in his arms. "What do you say we break the place in?" Kyle laughs as he carries her into the house. "I like that idea," she smiles as she runs her thumb along his lips. Kyle carries her upstairs and lies her on the bed in the master bedroom.
She sits up on her knees and undoes his jeans. She pulls them down to his knees and Kyle takes them off completely. He pulls his shirt over his head and it drops to the floor. He pushes Serenity back down and pulls off her linen shorts. She pulls off her over-sized sweater and throws it at him playfully. He caught a glimpse of the tag. "Eileen Fisher? I'm assuming this is new?" he said as he chucked it to the side. "Don't even start," she said as she slid her way up to the pillows. "When we're done, we're addressing your shopping addiction," he laughed.
He grabbed Serenity by her ankles and pulled her back down to the edge of the bed. She playfully kicked at him as he slid her panties off. He pulled out his member and slid into her. She rested her feet on his shoulders as he grabbed her by the hips. He pulled her close to him and she let out quiet moan. "It's just us baby. You can be as loud as you want". She covered her face and then ran her hand over her face and through her hair as she moaned loudly. "Fucking Christ," she let out. Kyle spread her legs and went in even deeper causing her to moan, "Oh god".
It went on for what felt like forever for Serenity, but she was enjoying every minute of it. When Kyle finally finished, they cuddled for the longest time. "I want to show you something. Get dressed," Kyle said. "It can't wait?" she groaned. "I would like to do this for our first day here. Think of it as another way to break the house in". Serenity groaned again before she slid her panties and the shorts back on. She didn't bother to put on a shirt because she was still wearing her bra. Kyle slid on some boxers and sweats and they headed downstairs.
He walked over to a box labeled 'Living Room FRAGILE'. He looked over at Serenity and said, "Hand me that box cutter". She grabbed it off the glass coffee table and handed it to him. He flipped the blade up and cut the tape on the box. He sat the box cutter on a box on the floor and began to open the box. He pulled out something that was wrapped in newspaper. When he was done unwrapping it, he walked over to the coffee table and sat the picture frame down. Serenity bent down to get a good look at the picture in the frame. "Is this...?" her voice trailed off.
"The first picture we took together at the Los Angeles Library," he smiled. She stood upright and just smiled at him. "I can't believe you still have it. I mean, I do too but I didn't think you would hold on to it". Kyle wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her forehead.
"You gave me a declaration of love and now it's my turn. I was so intrigued by you the first time we met. You were so feisty and you weren't having my shit at all. I loved it. When I flew you out, I wanted to ask you the second you got in my car if you wanted to be my girlfriend. I had arranged all of that because I wanted to impress you. I wanted to show you that I can spoil you with new experiences. Whenever I would miss you, I would just pull that picture up and look at the huge smile on your face. As time went on, I wanted to make you as happy as you seemed in that photo. I think what I'm trying to say is I probably loved you from the moment I saw you".
Serenity smiled at him. Is he about to propose to me? He kissed her passionately and grabbed her butt, causing her to push herself into his tall frame. "Neither of us are perfect, but I think we're good for each other," he said. Serenity nodded in agreement. I guess not. He released her from his embrace and they both turned to look at the photo. "It's crazy how far we've come".
