Cinnamon Girl

"You have more things than I expected," Kyle says as he puts her suitcase on his bed. "It really shouldn't be a surprise that I have a lot of clothes". Serenity was making space in Kyle's closet for her clothes. "But I wasn't expecting all the shoes and purses," he says. "Well I am a young woman who makes way more money than she needs to survive so it has to be spent on something," she jokes. Kyle unfolds a t-shirt and looks at the Lana Del Rey print. "You really like her music huh?" Kyle asks as Serenity turns around and looks at the shirt in his hands. "I really do. She just gets me". He nodded as he folded the shirt and sat it back on the pile of clothes he was making.

"She does have a new album. We should listen to it one night," Serenity suggests. Kyle had taken it upon himself when Serenity mentioned that she loved Lana Del Rey to listen to her most recent album at the time, Lust For Life. He didn't like her music, especially her voice, but Serenity clearly loved her and he would bare through it for her. "We can do it after dinner," he said. Serenity walked over and grabbed the pile of t-shirts. "I was able to clear up some space in the drawers and find myself a little corner in the closet for things that need to be hanged. I'm not sure what I'll do with the shoes and handbags since your shoes take up all the shelf space".

Kyle walks into the closet and sees where he can make space for Serenity's shoes. "I guess you're right. There is no space". He walks back out as she was placing clothes on hangers to be hung up. "I may have a solution to our problem," Kyle says. "And what would that be?". Serenity adjusts a blouse on a hanger before lying it on a pile of clothes. "We just get a bigger place". She chortled at his statement. "We'll just make space," she says. She grabs the clothes on hangers and walks into the closet to hang them up. Kyle wanted her to feel at home since, well, this was her home now.

After Serenity had finished hanging all her clothing, she had started on dinner. She had researched recipes and talked with Kyle to understand his diet to prepare for the season that was rapidly approaching. She had decided on a zucchini and potato bake. While the food was in the oven, she got a call. Leah Huston. "Can you keep an eye on the food while I take this call?" she asked Kyle, who was sitting on the couch. "Yeah". Serenity grabbed her phone and went into Kyle's room. "Leah!" she answered. "I feel like it's been forever".

Leah huffed. "Yeah bitch. You act like you can't answer your phone". Serenity rolled her eyes at Leah's attitude. "Where are you? I thought your training ended?" she asked. "Oh". Serenity had completely forgotten to tell Leah that she had accepted the position in California. Since Leah had gone to Minnesota, the two of them had not talked as much as they would've liked. Major developments have happened in Serenity's life and Leah was completely unaware. "I got offered a permanent position out here in California and decided to take it. I live out here now".

Leah fake chuckles to herself. "Ok thanks for letting me know all late about it. Next question: when will I be able to come and see your new place?". Serenity sat on the bed. "Well you've already been to my new place. I moved in with Kyle". Leah does another fake chuckle. "I'm now keeping count of how many things you've failed to tell me in the like, the month and a half I've left you. What is your brother doing in our apartment and why did he have a girl here?". Serenity smiled knowing that Gideon and Nessa were still hanging out. "Oh well since the apartment would've been vacant, we all just kind of decided to let Gideon have the place. I pay the rent for him so it's okay. And the girl is his friend. Don't say anything though because he likes her".

"Ok so that makes three things I was unaware of. Is there anything else?". Serenity thought to herself. "No, I believe that was it. I will admit, I have neglected to tell you some things. As you can tell, a lot has been happening for me in such a short period of time". Serenity could smell the food through the closed door. Kyle was only half paying attention when she asked him to keep an eye on it so she hoped it wasn't burning. "Well I was calling to see where you were, but since I have my answer, I'll just have to plan a trip to LA," Leah said.
