Overnight Celebrity

It was the morning after the party and Serenity and Kyle were in the kitchen. She was preparing breakfast and he was making a green smoothie. She plated the scrambled eggs, toast, and turkey bacon and sat the plates on the dining room table. "It may be the off-season, but that diet can't change," Kyle said as he poured the smoothies into cups. "It just seems so bland," Serenity said as she took a bite of toast. Kyle walked over to the table and sat the smoothies down. "I have to keep my body right," he says as he picks up his fork and starts eating. "While I'm here, I should make you some Alfredo. It's like my go to meal. Tastes just like Olive Garden. It'll be a cheat meal for you, but you'll like it". Kyle drank some of the smoothie. "Oh you're cooking for me now?" he jokes. "Just this one meal. Be grateful".

They had finished up breakfast and sat the dishes in the dishwasher. They were sitting on his balcony and taking in the breeze and listening to music. "I'm really sorry about what happened last night," Serenity said. Kyle rubbed her hand with his thumb. "It's fine. We don't really have to talk about it". His jaw tightened and Serenity looked at him solemnly. "What he said was wrong and I should've beat his ass though". 

"It's good that you didn't. That would've been a mess and you don't need that kind of publicity". She leaned over and kissed his cheek. "He's childish and should be ignored. He's probably mad that he won't get another piece of me," she laughs. Kyle raised his eyebrow and cracked a smile. "I have a question about last night," Serenity says. "And what would that be?". She adjusts in the chair, "What did you mean when you called me your girl?" she asked. "I meant that you're my girl," he responded. 

"But define what that means. It varies for some people". Kyle turned to Serenity. "My girlfriend". Serenity gasped dramatically and smiled widely. "That's my first time hearing that. I had no idea we were dating". Kyle chuckled and sipped on his water. "You heard it for the first time last night when I introduced you to the guys". Serenity brushed her hair behind her ear and grinned. "That's what I was doing up until I saw you. Letting people know that you're mine". He leaned over and gave her a kiss. "Well now we have to figure out how we'll see each other regularly. Long distance relationships can be hard," Serenity reminds him.

"It's the off-season so I can come to you since you work. This would be a good time for you to be one of those unemployed girls. I could just have you stay out here the whole summer," Kyle jokes. "I'm grateful to have a job that's generous with leave time, but this trip and the last one have really eaten at my yearly off days".

"But when you come to town, you're more than welcome to stay at my place. I'd have to ask Leah of course but I'm sure it won't be a problem". Kyle's phone vibrated and he looked at the name. Lonzo. He picked up and put the phone on speaker, "What's up?" he asked him. "Let me ask you something. When you and your girl came through, was someone at the door taking phones?". Kyle and Serenity exchanged looks. "No. We just walked in," Kyle said. "About what time you think you guys came?" he asked. "11:30 maybe 12. Why? What's going on?". Lonzo was quiet and took a deep breath. "I'll update you later bro. Right now a few of us are just trying to get something straight".

Lonzo ended the call and the two of them sat there in confusion. "I wonder what's going on?" Serenity asks. "I feel like I have an idea, but I'll wait for someone to give all the information to me," Kyle stands up and walks back into the kitchen to get himself some more water. Serenity snaps a few selfies on the balcony before he sits back down. "And you call me vain," he jokes. "The lighting out here is amazing. I'm just taking advantage of it". She sits her phone down on the small circular table and it begins to vibrate. Leah Huston.

"Hey. What's up?" Serenity asks as she puts the phone on speaker. "What's Kyle's address?" Leah asks. Kyle gives Leah his address and she says, "I will be over there in a few minutes". She ends the call and the two of them are left confused again. "What is going on this morning?" Serenity jokes. "I don't know but I don't want to be involved". The two of them sat on the balcony and talked. "Send me that picture we took together at the library," Kyle said to her. "Are you going to make it your lock screen or something?" she asked as she opened her photos.
