Chapter 39: Daniel's POV-(Part 5)

Daniels POV: Maia's house-
I had a day off, so I decided to have a self care day. My body does not know how to have a lie in, I had been up since 7am just scrolling through my phone. I had a shower, and got dressed.

After breakfast I had Mila on my mind so I texted her quickly. I asked her if  we could have dinner tomorrow in Shoreditch. She agreed and I smiled, and left the house. I got into the car, 'Dave and Jhus- Samantha' started to play as soon as I turned the engine on . I nodded and rapped along until I got to the barbers.

"Bro bro, hey come in sit down. Jayla will be with you in a sec to do your braids". Ruben said as he cut a customers hair, "hows the Mrs?"

"Thanks man, and yeah she's good" I replied not wanting the other clients in the shop to know my business.

"You know what I am loving this relationship life right now bro. But damn, Mila and I have had a few ups and downs recently. I defended my ex when Mila and her had a fight, and Mila was pretty mad". I said, now in the chair getting my cut after having my braids done and eye brows neatened.

Ruben laughed, "you defended your ex bro? Why? I mean I know girls can over react, but why were they fighting? and why did you?.... You have to help me out with this bro".

"Long story short, I haven't talked about my ex with Mila yet. Alex came to Andre, Mila's best friends party last night. Alex is best friends with Andre's girlfriend, Simone. Anyway, Mila saw Alex, and just went loops, she knocked her out bro".

Ruben laughed, "wow wow wow. Have you spoken yet?"

"Yeah she came over last night, we spoke a bit. Whether she trusts, or believes me I don't know but it is ok for now".

"Well as long as, you've spoken. I am wishing you the best of luck with everything".

"Thanks man, hows your Mrs too?"

"She's good, I'm thinking of proposing soon man".

"AY! Congrats bro" I said, giving Ruben a handshake.

"Thanks Dan".

They have been together a while, 2 years to be exact. So if he wanted to get married already, I was happy for the guy. "Alright brother, I'm out see you in a few days for another trim. You know I stay fly", I said laughing.

Ruben shook my hand and gave me a hug. "Thats right bro!" He said smiling.

"Thanks J!" I shouted to Jayla. She was currently doing another someone customer's hair.

"Bye Dan" she replied, and I left the barber shop.

It was 1pm and I bought something to eat from the Tesco next door, and went to the gym. I got a notification on my phone after my session, it was an email with a new script attached, for  a short movie Maia and I had been cast for.

Now 3.35pm, I phoned Maia, and asked if I could come over to go through the script? She agreed. I also asked if I could get to hers for 6.30pm? She said Mila was at the house, I felt nervous, but excited to see her again.

After doing my grocery shopping, and other things, it was now 6.35pm. I pulled up to Maia's apartment. She opened the door for me and gave me a hug. "Shuri sister of Black Panther" I said to her, causing her to laugh.

I looked over, and saw Mila sitting all pretty, and cute on the sofa. "There she is", I said as I gave her a cuddle and kiss. She gave me a half hearted hug, and simple peck. I looked past it, and sat with my arm around her on the sofa. She rested her head on my chest, the whole time Maia and I rehearsed, just scrolling through her phone.
