Sunday 9.45am- Christmas Eve: "You should invite Kev over for Sunday lunch or dinner" mum said. I was very confused as to why she wanted to invite Kev before Daniel but, I guess the family had known him longer.
"Sure, what about Daniel though? He has never been invited over for dinner before". I said as I started to fold up the laundry, off of the washing line.
"Oh yes darling that can definitely be arranged for the new year". I looked at my mum from the corner of my eye and shook my head.
10.21am- I phoned Kevin, and he answered promptly.
Kevin: "Hey Milas" his voice was deep and raspy it sounded like he had just woken up.
Me: "Hey Kev, what you up too? Do you wanna come over for dinner tonight? My mum has invited you by the way lol".

Kevin: "This is what I'm up too, and aw Mumma Ansong, tell her I can come over this evening. I have no plans".
Me: "Wow. I didn't expect that". I said laughing, "as your chilling I'm off to Church with the famo".

Me: "Which you should be doing!"
Kevin: "Did I ask you for a picture? And I just came back from the gym, I'm shattered. Church from home today " Kevin replied cheekily.
Me: "You're rude you know. I'm gonna tell my mum you changed your mind, and you can't come to Sunday dinner after all. I don't want you to come over". I said, rolling my eyes.
Kevin: "I'm playing with you, you look beautiful that winter sunshine is hitting you just right. God daymn! And I see the short braids are back, I likey. Plus whether you like it or not, I'm coming over tonight, your mum invited me, not you".
Me: "I'm done with this conversation, 8pm my place". I ended the phone call laughing.
10.44am- "Who has you laughing like that? And is Kevin coming?" Mum asked, looking at me in the rear view mirror whilst applying her lipstick.
