*Luke's POV*
These last few days have been incredible. Usually, if we had a few days off, we would go home and spend time with the family, but Ashton, head over heals for Erika, insisted we come here. And of course, I was fine with it because I wanted to see Katy just as much. Everyday we spent with the girls, eating, talking, hanging out, watching movies.
Even though she acted happy and chirppy, occasionally, when things quieted down, I would just watch her and could tell something was heavily on her mind. I never asked her about it because I figured it was something that would be fixed once we got on the road, away from all the nightmares she faced here in town.
"Whatchya thinkin' bout Lukey?" Erika looked a me, smiling happily. I realized then that I was staring at the girl that sat across from me in the booth, laughing with Michael and Ash.
"Huh? Oh, nothing." I shrugged.
"Have you noticed it too?" She asked. So I wasn't the only one...
"Yeah, but I think she'll be better once we get on the road."
"Yeah. Well, then lets get going!" She screeched, catching everyones attention.
"Are we ready?" Cal pipped up.
"Yeah, I guess. Are y'all ready?" I asked as I pushed my plate of food away.
Everyone stood up, Kaitlyn was the last one in the booth. The smile she was wearing had fadded until she caught me looking at her and the corners of her mouth picked up just a bit.
"You excited?" I asked, trying not to let her know I noticed the fake smile she wore.
"Yeah! But uhmm.. first, I need to run home. Ill meet you guys at the hotel?"
"I can go with you," I volunteered, a little afraid to let her go by herself.
"No, that's fine. I just want to say goodbye to my parents. Ill be right there, yeah?"
I hesitated for a second before digging and nodding, "Yeah, take your time."
"Thanks, bye Luke!" She stood up on her toes and placed her hand on my shoulder, signalling for me to bend down. With a simple kiss to the cheek, she was gone.
*Erika's POV*
When Luke told me that Kaitlyn has to go home first, I simply replied with an okay, but for reason, I could tell it bothered him. I shrugged it off because I knew he was over reacting. After getting settled in into the bus, I set down with the guys in the living area. Everyone was so awesome, even better than I imagined.
"Stop it! Give it back." I yelled as Ashton took my phone from me and passed it back and forth between Michael and Calum.
"Do you think we should give it back?" Cal turned to Michael. Mickey acted as if he was pondering, but I knew better.
"Nahh," he shook his head.
"Ugh, pleaseee Ashy?" I begged, using the nickname he really hated.
"Now you're really never getting it back." he said, acting upset.
"Give it to her. Erika, call Katy. She isn't here yet." Luke said coming into the room, killing the playful mood.
"It hasn't been that long. Give her time." I defended my friend who I knew didn't like people being clingy.
"Its almost been 2 hours." He said, catching me by surprise. Had it really been that long? When Ashton gave me my phone back, I checked the time, and sure enough it had been.
"Ill be right back." I said stepping out of the bus, dialing my bestfriend.
"Hello?" she answered on the first ring.
"Hey, where are you? We're waiting on you."
There was a pause. "I'm uhh, I'm not going."
"You... what?" I stuttered as my heart dropped. This tour was supposed to be the time of our lives. A best friend vacation. It was supposed to be the perfect break, with some school mixed in because we would be missing the months between winter and spring break.
"There is something you don't know," she paused before continuing. "I have a boyfriend. Zach and I are dating."
"You're WHAT?! YOU AND ZACH??" A huge smile spread across my face. I always knew he was so in love with her, but she never believed me. It was about time they got together. "Oh my gosh, thats so awesome!"
"Yeah...its cool I guess. But please don't tell Luke, just make an excuse as to why I can't go."
"Why don't you want him to know?" I asked but as I did, I answered my own question. Luke liked Katy and she didn't want to hurt him. "Okay, I'll keep it quiet."
"Thanks, Erika. And one more thing, I don't really wanna keep in contact with the guys while I'm with Zach. I don't think thats fair to him, so just pretend like we don't have contact either, okay?" she pleaded. I knew there was more to the story, but I didn't push her. She had a plan, and I knew Zach would take good care of her so I agreed and hung up before heading back on the bus.
All 4 boys turned to me expectedly. "She isn't coming." I said.
~Weeks Later~
*Ashton's POV*
I was falling hard for the blonde headed green eyed girl that was on tour with us. She made me smile so easily. And her smile only made me want to kiss her senseless. But since that night at the hotel, I haven't touched her in any other way than a friend. Of course we cuddled, but thats a given being on tour with our band. At night though, when we would head to bed, she always slept with me in my bunk, she told me I make her feel safe. Which was good because I would never let anything happen to her. I don't exactly know where we stand, but I know how I feel about her.
Tonight we are playing a show in Missouri, the state she loved in before moving to Texas she continuously reminded us, and I'm really excited because I have something up my sleeve. It was minutes before show time and all the guys were talking, trying to stay relaxed. Just before it was time to head out, I turned to Erika, making sure she was standing some place I could see. She was, so I smiled to her and ran out on stage, banged he drums a couple of times, looking at the crowd, listening to their cheers. As the other guys ran out, I hit Luke in the butt with my drumstick, like always and took my seat. But as I sat down, I felt something crackle on the seat. Standing up, I looked down and saw a note with hearts all over.
To my Ashy<3
Do good tonight, its my home state, treat it well. No pressure or anything, but if you mess up, I'm sleeping with Michael tonight. Love you!!
I couldn't help but chuckle and "Aww" at the piece of paper. It was adorable, and of course she would know exactly what to use as fire. When I looked up, I noticed all the guys had turned to me with a confused looked. I shrugged with a smile, "I think I'm in love with Ryde." The crowd went crazy, the boys laughed and shook their heads and when I caught a glimpse of Erika off stage, she used her hands to sinal that she loved me too. Funny thing is, she meant she loved me as a friend, but when I told the entire stadium, I meant it as I loved her with my entire heart.
That night, I was going to tell her exactly that.
As the concert went on, the best part of the show started to creep up. Finally we were playing End up here. Just a few more words...
"Call me lucky cause in the end, I'm a 6 and ERIKA'S a 10!" I looked to the side of the stage and saw her smile light up just before a blush crept up into her cheeks. Mission complete, I grinned as we finished the concert.
In just a few hours, I'm going to tell Erika what she means to me. And then I'll show her.
