Our Promise (Dual POV)

Jimin's POV

I woke up with a jolt as I rubbed my forehead.

I had another dream about her.

About Y/N.

I already swore to myself that I would forget about her, but I just had the most heartbreaking dream.

It was when we were children. We were talking to each other when Y/N held out her pinky towards me with a smile.

She told me to pinky promise her that we would never part from each other, even if the world ended.

It was our promise.

The one she broke...

"We'll always be together? What a joke.." I whispered.

Y/N's POV

I spent the rest of that night crying hysterically.

Last night will be the last we spend together, Park Jimin.

From this day forward, we are now strangers.

I wish things hadn't gone this way, but this is our fate.

In our past lives, we were together, but...

But, we always broke things off before they got too serious.

We were never destined to be together.

Jimin once told me we were connected by the red string of fate because of how many times we were together in our past lives.

The red string of fate?

As if that exists.

If it existed, I wouldn't have to suffer this pain.

I have to face reality and forget about everyone in this town.

I'd be lying if I said they mean nothing to me.

My friends have grown so dear to me, it hurts to even think about leaving them.

It doesn't matter anymore.

They are now strangers to me.

I stood up and walked away from the town.

I was now in the woods once again.

I activated my leaping ability and leaped onto the tallest tree, getting a good view of the neighboring village.

It was small.

Much smaller than the town, so it'd make a great place to stay temporarily.

I leaped from tree to tree, the wind blowing my hood down, letting my hair out.

The wind felt so refreshing right now.

I didn't know why though.

Normally, it felt normal, but right now, it feels calm.

Almost as if...

Almost as if, someone is controlling it.

I suddenly stopped and landed on a nearby tree.

A child's giggle rang through the trees as I hid.

The wind suddenly picked up, almost causing me to fall off.
