Y/N's POV

"Aileen? Are you okay? You seem... unwell," Artemis commented as he glanced over at her.

She stared down at the table, gripping the table cloth with shaking hands.

Aileen shook her head, glancing up.

"No, I'm fine," she muttered fearfully.

"I'm fine," Aileen repeated.

Her eyes were full of fear, worry, and sorrow at the same time.

Aileen looked back down at the table.

The room was silent.

Too silent.

I stood up and slammed my hands on the table.

"Aileen needs some extra rest today. Please excuse us, Lord Artemis. We'll be going now," I spat, grabbing Aileen's hand and leading her out of the room.

"So much for preparing this grand dinner," Leo sighed behind me.

I kicked open the door and quickly walked out.

"Are you okay?" I asked.

"Yes, thank you, Y/N. This place has brought back so many memories," Aileen said.

"What kind of memories?"

"Happy ones, sad ones, and heartwarming ones. How I've missed this place," Aileen quietly replied.

We got out of the castle, and I turned towards her.

"Can I ask you something?" I questioned.

"Yes, what is it?"

"What happened between you and Artemis? Aqua, Blaze, Wind, and Electro told me you hated him and wanted revenge. But then, I also heard stories that you still loved him. Which one is it?" I asked.

"I never hated him. Although I planned to avoid him for the rest of my life after he... abandoned me. But, after I returned to Artelle for the tournament, he acted like he never even did that. I was enraged, but I was also relieved to know he didn't hate me," she explained.

"I continued to avoid him, but he continued to try and get close to me again. I said things I didn't mean to him and was upset at myself for doing that. Then, I did something stupid. Something I regret to this very day." She looked down

I led her to a bench, and we sat down.

"What did you do?"

"I... I used the forbidden and forgotten Cursed Art. I knew I shouldn't have, but it was my only choice," Aileen sobbed.

"What was the forbidden Cursed Art?" I asked.

"Shadow's Blade," she replied, still looking down and fumbling with her fingers.

I'd read in many cursed books that the Cursed Art, Shadow's Blade was not only forgotten, but it was also forbidden from ever being used again. Why? That's because the Art was a curse itself. It is the strongest spell in the world, but the person who uses it will disappear forever. No matter how you use it. Use it correctly, you disappear. Use it incorrectly, you still disappear.

It's forbidden for a reason. So many Shadow Demons have disappeared from the surface of the Earth because of it.

Yes, I did my research as I traveled the world.

"Yes! I know it was stupid of me, but at that time, I didn't know it was forbidden. I just hoped I would use it correctly and keep my physical form!" she exclaimed.
