A/N: Warning, there's blood in this chapter.

I kept my eyes on the ground, not daring to look at them. I knew what they were thinking. How stupid I was to believe all of the nonsense they spouted out.

If only I'd stayed, maybe Riku and Flara wouldn't become corrupted like this. Is this my fault? If only I didn't put my pride before my friends, maybe things wouldn't have turned out like this.

I know more than anyone, that this is my fault. This is my fault I didn't stop Flara and Riku from becoming like this. If I were here to spend time with them, would they have turned to the darkness like this?

"Why?" I grieved.

"Why what?" Flara spat.

"Why have you become like this?" I said, wiping my tears and standing up, looking Flara right in the eyes.

"You wouldn't understand. You wouldn't ever understand," she hissed, making me flinch.

"If I had stayed 5 years ago, would you have still done this?" I asked, my voice quiet.

"That's none of your business. Stop speaking to me as if I'm still your friend," Flara ordered, a small red light forming in her hand.

"I'm sorry," I whispered, picking my sword back up.

"What are you sorry for? Surely, you would hate me by now," Flara scoffed.

"I could never hate you, Flara," I confessed, infusing all of my magic into my sword.

My comment made Flara gasp slightly, and she broke eye contact with me. Riku stepped forward.

"Enough talking. This ends here. Goodbye Y/N-"

Suddenly, a red glowing blade impaled Riku in the chest, causing him to stop and fall, revealing a pale man standing behind him with a disgusted glare on his face.

He was extremely pale. His dark black hair was combed back, and his eyes were completely grey.

"One simple task. I asked for one simple task and it takes you this long to complete it? Forget it, you're useless to me. Flara, clean his body up," he barked.

Flara flinched and took a few steps back, her eyes wide with fear, the light that was once in them was now gone.

Her eyes were as hollow as her soul at this point.

"Flara!" he yelled, making her flinch even more.

"B-But sir-"

He looked over at her with a murderous glare.

"Do you want to end up as Riku did? Do what I say or else," he demands.

She quickly kneeled and grabbed Riku by his arms, pulling him against a tree, before coming back to stand beside the man.

He looked over at me.

"Flara. Kill her then extract Aileen's spirit from her, understood?" he asked.

Instead of answering, she held a large blade in her hand and held it up to her neck as she walked up to me and hugged me.

"If you had stayed 5 years ago, no, I wouldn't have done this, but I'm too far gone, Y/N. Forget about me. I'm sorry for everything," she whimpered.

"Please let us be friends again in our next lives," she sobbed into my body.

She parted from me and smiled one last time before plunging the knife into her neck with blood leaking out everywhere.
