Part 3
Aileen's POV
As I walked through the large castle, I sighed loudly.
Our wedding was coming up in a few months, but I felt like something was going to go wrong.
"Why are you sighing?"
I turned around, and there stood Artemis with a gentle smile.
"I don't know. I sense that something bad is going to happen, but maybe it's just because I've been working too hard," I replied, slightly smiling.
He held out his hand towards me, urging me to hold his hand.
"Let's go. I'll take you somewhere fun," he said and winked.
I blushed slightly, and he noticed.
"Ah geez, why are you so perverted? I'm just taking you to one of my favorite places to go," he chuckled.
"Sorry, maybe my mind isn't where it's supposed to be today." I smiled and took his hand as he led me down the hallway.
As we walked, we talked about nothing in particular.
We could talk for hours and hours, but we didn't have that kind of time. We just preferred to talk to each other if we both had time.
Artemis, being the next king, and me, being the queen of Artelle was overwhelming.
We soon reached our destination as Artemis said.
It was a crystal blue fountain surrounded by plant life in the garden.
I rarely ever went to the garden, so this was all new to me.
The water shimmered in the sunlight so brightly.
The flowers around us were very colorful and vibrant.
"It's so beautiful!" I exclaimed, rushing over to the large fountain.
"Not as beautiful as you," Artemis mumbled.
I smiled and hugged him.
"Thank you. This was very nice of you to do this even though you're so busy," I said.
He hugged me back and patted my head.
"No problem. Anything for you, Aileen," he replied.
Just then, a guard came running, interrupting us.
"Prince Artemis! You're needed in the king's chambers!" he shouted.
"What could Father possibly want?" he asked, letting go of me.
"Stay here, Aileen," he commanded.
I nodded and sat down on the bench near the fountain.
I examined the water flowing through the fountain.
Closing my eyes for a few seconds, I felt a hand clasp over my mouth, muffling any screams that came out.
The stranger injected a syringe into my arm as I struggled for air, and slowly, my consciousness began to slip away from me.

Artemis's POV
"Yes, Father?" I asked as I entered his bedroom.
"Hm? Artemis? What are you doing here?" Father asked.
"A guard told me to come here as you were calling for me," I answered.
"Strange. I never told anyone to call for you. Weren't you supposed to be with Aileen?"
My stomach dropped, and my world came crashing down.
"I-I must go. Goodbye Father," I quickly said, rushing out of his room.
Running back down to the garden, I spotted Aileen through the large windows of the castle.
A stranger came up behind her and drugged her with an unknown substance.
Running even faster, I clenched my fists.
Oh god, please no.
Don't take her away from me, please.
I finally reached the garden, and I saw Aileen being carried out by the stranger.
He turned around and saw me with panicked eyes.
I shot a beam of light towards him, cutting his leg which slowed him down.
As I chased him, he ran even faster towards a carriage parked outside of the castle.
The man threw Aileen in and hopped onto the driver's seat, quickly grabbing the reigns of the horses before driving away.
"Aileen!!!" I yelled.
A man came out of the carriage onto the small steps and threw a piece of paper at me before quickly running back in.
I shot more beams of light at them, missing each shot.
As they got further and further away, I fell to my knees, immediately losing all hope.
Why couldn't I save her?
Am I so pathetic that not even God would let me save her?
The wind blew the piece of paper towards me right into my chest.
I picked it up, and my eyes widened.
It read: If you want your precious princess back, come alone to XXXXXXXXX. You'll be trading something important of yours in return for her life. If you dare to break any rules, I'll be killing her instantly. Keep in mind, you're not the only powerful Demon here, Prince Artemis.
Folding the piece of paper, I stood up and returned to my father's room.
If that's how they want to play this game, be my guest.
I'm sorry Aileen...
I hope you'll forgive me one day for this.
I never imagined I would rule this world without you, but it's my last option.
I hope we meet again...
