Part 5

Aileen's POV

After a while, I eventually forgot about Artemis after spending more time with my spirits.

They taught me things I never even knew about my magic.

I started to realize how weak I was after sparring with Wind.

He beat me with ease the first time, leaving me in shock.

After that, I decided to get stronger, so I could defend myself.

Considering I was the Shadow Demon, it made sense to try to get stronger.

I studied magic and curses to try and understand the Demon world better.

After all, I was inside the castle for a long time, completely oblivious to how the real world worked.

Humans were hopeless creatures.

Be nice to them, you'll look like a fool.

Be mean to them, you'll look like an asshole.

Ignore them, they'll always find something else to say.

As I was getting lost in my thoughts, a tap came on my shoulder.

"Lady Aileen? It's time," Wind said.

"Yes. Let's go," I replied, standing up and putting on my cloak.

A few days ago, I saw a tournament happen underground that I happened to stumble across.

It seemed to be deciding who was the strongest Demons of the world since Demons from all over were coming to participate in it.

It was very popular, so I decided to enter the tournament now that I was much stronger than I was before.

Today was the day it was supposed to be happening.

After I got sent to Korea by Nari and Mari, I trained there, then traveled the world to discover places I haven't seen before.

That was 5 years ago.

Now, I ended up back where I started.

Artelle. The city of Artemis.

It's been 5 years since I last saw him, so occasionally, I wondered how Artemis was doing.

Despite his betrayal towards me, I still loved him.

"You're allowed to fight with us, right?" Electro asked.

"Yes. They said as long as I didn't kill the other person, I could do whatever I wanted with my magic. That goes for spirits too," I explained.

"Miss Aileen, isn't Artelle where you met Artemis?" Aqua said.

Blaze nudged her.

"Don't talk about that backstabbing asshole!" she scolded.

"It's fine. I've gotten over him," I lied and grinned.

We entered the area where the tournament was being held.

"What's your name?" the guard there asked.

"Aileen. Just Aileen," I answered.

"Found you. You're fighting in the second match, so get ready," he said.

I nodded and walked past him.

"You guys should stay in the bracelets and charge up magic power while I wait here. I'll call you out when the battle's starting," I told them.
