Y/N's POV

Kiran grabbed Rachel's hand and walked away, leaving me alone.

I crossed my arms and smirked a tiny bit.

That's cute. The two of them are so protective of each other.

I turned around and walked the other way.

Aileen. Do you know them?

Yes, I do. They're my old friends. They were also the other two Legendary Demons.

Interesting...

It's quite shocking to see how much they've changed though.

What were they like before?

Well, for starters, Kiran was much nicer before. Rachel also smiled a lot more back then. I wonder what changed them?

Maybe they went through a lot together. We won't ever know unless they tell us, so let's just forget about it.

I guess so.

I sighed and walked past a couple of people, overhearing their conversation.

"King Artemis has not come out of his castle in a while. I wonder if something's happened?" a man said.

"Tch. He's a useless king. All he ever did was just sit on his throne and make his people do all the work," another replied.

Man, what a useless guy.

Y/N!

Hehe... Sorry about that, Aileen.

Yeah, sure.

I giggled to myself lightly and carefreely walked through the city.

What are you doing? You've been walking around for ages!

I'm exploring. I need to see what my future city looks like.

You're stalling.

Who said that?

You're hesitating to take the throne, Y/N.

No, you're just imagining things, Aileen.

Believe what you want, I guess.

My smile faltered a bit before coming back as I knew Aileen was right.

This was a new thing for me.

Taking over a city? Let alone the world?

I can't do that.

It's too much pressure.

But, I have to.

Artemis won't stop his hunt for me and my friends until I take all of his power from him.

Then, he won't be able to control anyone anymore.

I entered a cafe and took a seat.

Soon after I came in, another person came in, standing in front of me.

"Excuse me, ma'am, is this seat taken?"

I looked up at him and studied him for a second.

He was a pale-skinned man with dark brown hair, having a few lighter streaks of brown hair running through. He wore glasses, and his clothing style was very lively.

"No, that seat isn't taken. If you want, I can move to another table," I replied.

"No, you don't have to move. I'll only be here for a little while," he said and sat down across from me.
