Jungkook straightened up his collar and fixed the two cuff links on his wrist. He looked out the window, watching the princesses arrive and step out of their carriages one by one.

He sighed heavily, he didn't expect himself to be nervous about this. It was only because of the fact that Jimin will be there watching his every move.

He looked at himself in the mirror over and over again, somehow finding a flaw each time he looked. He flinched when he heard Jimin's chuckle. "You look fine, your highness."

"How long have you been standing there?" Jungkook calmed his racing heart.

"Not very long. I came to tell you that the princesses are ready for your acquaintance but I couldn't help but find it fascinating  how perfect you want to appear in front of them." Jimin walked up to Jungkook which made the prince freeze in place. Jimin held onto the loose string that was dangling from his collar, carefully ripping it. "Now you're perfect."

Jungkook couldn't help but blush slightly at the lord's compliment, flinching away as soon as he could. A simple "Thank you." left his lips as he rushed them both outside of the room. That's all he needed to be reassured that he was good to go.

He stood patiently in the throne room, staring at the closed doors waiting for them to be opened to reveal the many princesses on the other side.

His father was sat at his throne behind him with Jimin stood on his right. The atmosphere between them made it clear something was bothering the king.

Soon the door finally opened and one after the other, a princess curtsies as the man next to Jungkook introduces them. But non of them really caught his eye.

"Princess Amelia of Queslor." Too full of her self.

"Princess Khadijah of El Sham." Eye brows too bushy.

"Princess Dalia of kingsland." Too booby.

"And finally, Princess Jade of Atier." Jungkook recognized this one from his many family trips to her kingdom. Both their parents  already discussed their children's future claiming that they're destined to be married to each other when they grew older. Her family is a strong allay to the king so there was no doubt his father wanted her for his son to strengthen that bond between the two kingdoms.

Jungkook Bowes and kissed her hand, greeting her with a smile. Happy that she was the last one and that he was done for the day.

"Were you interested in any of the young ladies that came today?" Jimin said, putting a spoon of sugar into his teacup before taking a sip.

"Not at all."

Jimin choked on his tea, he wasn't expecting the blunt answer. "Why not? They were all very beautiful women."

Jungkook, who was sat across from him simply shrugged, "They all have the same goals, marry the future King and become the richest  woman in the land. I could see it in their eyes." Jungkook took a bite from the cookie in his hand.

"Plus, non of them were really my type." He added thinking that would not let Jimin suspect anything suspicious.

Jimin furrowed his brows. There were a lot of different types of women and they were all pretty in their specific ways. So it didn't make sense to him that out of all those women, non of them were the prince's type?

"Then what is your type?" Jimin put his cup down and focused only on Jungkook, who wasn't ready for the question.

'Dick' was his first thought. But of course he didn't say that.

"Tough, but sweet. Strong features..." Jungkook realized it was sounding to much like he was describing a man. So he added, "And big boobs. That's a must."

"Interesting. Maybe you'll have a change of heart once you see them at the ball in two months time."Jimin chuckled, but the thought kind of scared him. He couldn't help his mind wander to Jungkook's ex lover.

He thought this would be the perfect moment to ask about the mystery man, but Jungkook beat him to it.

"How did you get your scar?" Jungkook already knew how, but he wanted to hear it from Jimin. He was interested in the hidden details.

Jimin's face fell, which made Jungkook regret asking. "You don't have to answer if it's too personal.." Jungkook reassured the lord with a smile. A smile that surprisingly made Jimin believe that maybe he could trust him. But it was still too soon for him to talk about it.

"I'd rather not talk about it just yet." Jimin drank his tea and the awkwardness overtook them. The ache was clear in the lord's eyes.

Jungkook thought about ways to lift his mood. He felt guilty because he was the one who brought up the subject and upset him. Then a thought came to mind.

He got up from his seat and offered Jimin his hand to take. "Come with me."

"Where ?"

"Somewhere that will cheer you up a bit."
