"Wakey wakey, my prince." Jimin spoke in melody, pulling the large curtains to Jungkooks window open. The prince groaned, eyes squinted shut at the light and turned the other way to avoid it, but they shot open when his mind finished processing what the older said.
He turned to look back at Jimin with a yank of his head, eyebrow raised as he spoke. "Wakey wakey? I'm not a child you know."
"Well," Jimin pretending to think. "You are fifteen years younger. So to me, you're a child."
Jungkook sent a death glare at him, he had a point, but he still wanted to come up with a comeback.
He was about to say something before Jimin cut him off. "Don't you dare say I'm old."
Jungkook shrugged, he wanted to say it was only the truth, but he was too scared of what Jimin might do. It's funny really, how a future king was afraid of a simple lord, but over these past few months of knowing him, he know it was best not to upset him.
It's been about two weeks since they've solved their differences, and they've only gotten closer as time went on. Their bond grew stronger, alongside Jungkooks feelings.
Of course he chose not to do anything about them, he couldn't bare doing something rhat might ruin the friendship he had with Jimin. Even though they teased each other more than anything, that's what he thought made their relationship together somewhat... special.
"Now get up and get dressed, today's a big day."
Jungkooks eyes widened in excitement when he remembered, today was the day of the great tournament. It was an event of bravery and strength, to show strategic skill and how quick-witted you can be under pressure. It was Jungkooks chance to show his people that he was fit to be king.
He spent these two weeks preparing for this day. Jimin taught him everything he could in such a short amount of time but Jungkook was a quick learner. He knew the prince was ready, he just wasn't sure if he was ready for how intense the tournament can be.
Jungkook jumped out of bed and went to his dresser. "How many men do you think will participate?"
"You're meeting up with each one in a few hours so we'll have to wait and see." Jimin informed, he couldn't help but avert his gaze when Jungkook started taking off his shirt. He doesn't know why he did, they were both men anyway.
Jungkook stayed quiet, too focused on getting his clothes on. Jimin stood awkwardly behind him, he couldn't help but ask. "Are you nervous?"
Jungkook paused for a second, thinking about it for a minute. Of course he was nervous, even though the fight wasn't to the death, he still didn't want to show himself up in front of all those people. And deep down, he definitely didn't want to embarrass himself in front of Jimin.
"All these years I've been watching my brother compete and manage to win most of the time. And his blood runs through my veins so I know he'll be there to guide me." Jungkook smiles at the memory of his brother, his courage and charm was definitely something the young prince will always look up to.
Jimin tilted his head in a half nod, understanding why it meant so much to the younger.
"I'm still nervous though." Jungkook chuckled, trying to get rid of the awkward atmosphere that appeared after what he said. Jimin cocked an eyebrow. "More nervous than excited?"
"No, I'm definitely excited to kick some ass."
"Don't be so certain my prince." Jimin smirked, making Jungkook turn around with the same expression on his face. "You think I can't do it?"
